True, but I don't think the Epic community/game should follow that line. I think the way you chose for the current AMTL is about right, with the exception that the Plasma Destructor should not be used as an arm weapon.

I agree to the first bit but not the second, why shouldn't a Plasma Destructor be an arm weapon? The unreleased MKII metal warlord has a a lower arm only Plasma Destructor and it's a fantastic design.

The design is good. But I like the idea that some weapons need a more stable firing platform than an arm and are carapace only. In my Titan game it's the Plasma Destructor and the Support Missiles.

According to the background, the Plasma Destructor is an arm-only weapon.

I allowed it on the carapace for the AMTL army list in order to remain backwards compatible, but strictly speaking it shouldn't be allowed by any list that follows the background.

According to 40k Apocalypse only the scout titan weapons, apocalypse missile launcher and support missiles are carapace weapons. All others including the plasma destructor are arm only weapons.

Also according to Forgeworld's sculptors & rules writers.

When making the Reaver Titan & rules for the Warlord, they (the GW studio) had a careful think about what weapons should be allowed on what locations.

Well, interesting, but I don't care. There's no logic behind it anyway.

There is logic behind it: Powerful weapons for the arms, less powerful weapons for the carapace.

Yes, but why this way around? In the end it's just GW always changing everything so that new stuff can be sold.

@ GlynG: So the Defence Laser is not a powerful weapon?
