That'd be big enough to carry hundreds... I thought a Stormbird only carried 50-60 as opposed to the Thunderhawk's 30-40.

I think the mock-up The Red Sorcerer has made is the closest thing on how i imagined the Stormbird. Needs only to look a bit more angular to look more Imperium like

For size: I guess a Stormbird would be 1,5 times the size of a Thunderhawk.

For once I find myself entirely agreeing with something you say BL.

Sorry Vaaish - it is a good drawing, it just doesn't have the distinctive wings that can sweep forward in the descriptions and I think The Red Sorceror's picture does that well.

I am using a GI Joe Dragonhawk as the basis for a Storm Bird conversion for 40K.





It's roughly the size of a Thunderhawk and can be easilly converted to 28mm scale by modifying the cockpit area.

It would good a good basis for an Epic version (and guarantee that I wanted one by matchin my 40K Navigator House Belsarius army).

Although Armondikov's concept on Deviant art looks pretty good and it looks like he already has created a 3D model.  If he was willing to share and it could be converted dirrectly into the correct format that would probably offer the simplest solution.

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.

To me the descriptiion given by Gagoc TheAncient, GreyWolf and Vespasian from the Greta Crusade implies a design very similar to the Lightning fighter.



Forward pointing wings - check
Large bird-like wings - check
underwing engines - check

@Vaaish. Love that Stormbird design, think it would look perfect with the wings slightly swept forward.

Otherwise I have to admit I really love that concept from deviantart, for me none of the others really have that Astartes look.
