Latest Version:

Version 1.13b

Changes:

Mossinian Siegfrieds lose Scout, and replace Multi-Laser with Autocannon.
Made Mossinian Rapiers compulsory for the Reg HQ, upped points cost.
Made Rapier upgrade smaller to reflect its comparative rarity.
Firestrikes from 200 to 225 points.
Bombers go from 6+ to 5+ armour.
Fixed forwards arc on fighter weapons added (Typo fix)
Changed Preachers name to Iterators, removed Fearless, changed to 1 per 300pts.
Changed Mossinian Fighter Squadron from 150 to 200pts.



I forgot to update the 'Preacher' entry on the reference sheet, that'll go in 1.14.

Page 32: Bombard datafax has a blue border instead of a black one.

Page 43: Mossinian Howitzer datafax title is a different font.

Page 44: Siegfried Light Tank datafax title is different font.

Page 45: Mossinian Bombard datafax title is different font.

Page 46: PDF Fighter datafax title is different font.

I *really* think the Mossinian Infantry should have 1 Stubber per stand for that cost.

As it now stands, the Mossinian Infantry Company cost more than, but has worse stats than, the Siegemaster Infanty Company, even with the NetERC recommendations.

Prove them underpowered at that cost, and the first thing that'll happen is they'll gain 1 shot per unit.


Note that Mossinian Infantry Companies allow access to three Support Formations, and that has to be accounted for.

A lot of people think the Siegemasters would be better off with a more expensive Infantry co as this would solve the popcorn problems - something the TRC/NetERC changes do little to address.

The NetERC tried... but The_Real_Chris didn't seem to think they needed that much change.  

I disagree... the popcorn potential is ridiculous; for both Siegemasters and Mossinians.  Extensive 125-150 point support formations don't help either.

Yeah, last night.

Played against Eldar, at 4000 points, I had 20 19 activations and 14 inspiring characters.

Yeah, and that's popcorn... just like the Mossinians... and each formation in that Marine army is BTS... and completely vulnerable to aircraft...  Mossinians would *devour* that army.

Honestly, if this is the level of "debate" about the Mossinians, then there's not much of a reason to finish my battle report.

Rug, you seem *entrenched* in what the Mossinians should be and seem unable to see how unbalanced they are and unwilling to make hard choices about addressing this.  Siegemasters *are* unbalanced in any competitive setting and Mossinians just build on that, paying a little lip service to balance, while maintaining most of the same issues Siegemasters have.

There are no hard choices in the Mossinian list... everything is good *and* cheap; it's *brilliant* at popcorn.

Example: if Thudd Guns are always the superiour choice to the other support weapons... they should cost more!  100 points instead of 75 as a simple change that makes a big difference.

How useful did you find "Inspiring" Howitzers then?, "Inspiring" AA guns?, "Inspiring" Firestrikes? It's self balancing. How many of the 14(!!!!!) inspiring units actual used the ability effectively?

I found it quite useful.

It deterred the enemy from initiating intermingled assaults.  Heck, I protected my arty and such by being heavily intermingled as multiple inspiring units is a scary thing to face.

The character also grants leader for clearing Blast markers... another perk, heck this was even more important than the inspiring!
