Though I have posted these in the following thread they really belong in this area of the forum so there they are for those who aren't going to read the other thread as they may think it is about something else...

These models were made with some SDD 15mm and 20mm Vietnam Riverine Craft.

I added Pulsa Rokitts and BattleFortress turrets as well as Buggy Gunners.

It was too clean to begin with, so I added metal "cladding" to the sides to have a "gargant" look to the sides of the boats.

These are unfinished...

...but when they are finished those 'umies on dem surfboardz better wotch out

:D

They very are nice, good job.  I do see what you mean by clean, and think they still are a little.  Is there anything else you could add/take away?

Hi!

What technique would you use to simulate these rivets?

take some plastic rod

ands then slice small slices off it and stick them onto the hull

the issue is really which glue do you use and how to stop them all melting or sticking to your fingers

It is tricky.  I simply use superglue.  I use a cocktail stick to dab some glue to the location where I want the rivet, and then with a very sharp pointy scalpel, lightly press the rivet with the point.  It should pick it up.  When you press it against the glue, the surface tension/stickyness should be greater than the scalpels.  And it comes off into place.  Hands nice and free.

Hi!

Cool trick, I dont think I would have thought of making rivets that way.

Almost easy enough for me to try....almost. :)

Another good rivet technique is to use gel superglue and a straght pin.  Lay out your rivet pattern, use the pointy end of the pin to pick up a little dab of glue and touch it where you want the rivet.  If you keep pin clean you can lay down very uniform rivets.  When all our rivets are down hit them with a bit of excelerater then give them a quick swipe with a bit of fine sand paper.  presto

Are those comparable in scale to the MoW ships?  I ask because an ork MoW hull might make a good starting point.

no they are way bigger (and thus more in scale).

A MoW ship is approx 4cm in length, whereas these are between 6-9cm.

The guns and turrets are from GW models which should give you an indication of size.
