Im thinking about to use Hormagaunts as Raveners. I simply have to cut them from their disk, cut off the legs put a tail on them with Green Stuff or similar and voilá! Raveners at a more reasonable scale than using Wh40k Rippers. I could base them 3 to a stand.
What do you guys think?

I think it's a great idea, but I'm biased.

(Wow, there's another thing I have to finish.)

Remember to let the putty cure a little, before rolling and before shaping the tail. :;):

@Vermis: Actually this scratchbuild Trygon gave me the idea :D

@Warmaster Nice. Why expensive? Because i have to sacrifice Hormagaunts? Well i got hold of about 20 sprues of Tyranids for around 85€ :D Thats 20 units of Hormagaunts...so i will have a few to spare

No. You WILL use Rippers and give me any spare Hormogaunts...

*does Jedi Mind Trick wave with his hand

:))

Seriously: That's a good deal, so yeah; I guess a few could be mutated into Raveners

In the first link of that post, isnt that ravenor based on the 40k unit a bit big for Epic? When I look at the 40k units they seem just a bit bigger than the normal lesser creatures.

But I have to admit, it looks good!

The Wh40k Gaunt to Epic model conversion isn't a Ravener it's a Trygon.

Yep. Thats a Wh40k Trygon :D Need some for Epic as well. I have only one of the old worm-like ones.
Actually i plan to use lots of Trygons and Raveners. Snakes are the theme of my Hivefleet Ereshkigal :)

I have to say, that I kinda like Tyranids, even considering I generally do not like this kind of stuff. I am more the lean technology kinda guy or considering fantasy most of the time some elvish stuff strikes me.

But the snakethingy tyras are especially nice. I think a ravener is by far my favorite tyranid model. Its the coolest in Dawn of War 2 as well.

And thats quite an idea you have there using greek/mesopotamian mythology as your inspiration for a hivefleet. I like it very much.

Actually it's Babylonian mythology  :upside:

I thought about Greek mythology but noone seems to be able to pronounce or even write Hivefleet Hekatoncheiros correctly :D
