Yesterday I got a few more details off of Tony Cotrell & Owen Branham in a quick sit-down; They intend to do something with Epic in 'about a year'. Most probably it will be a Titan-based game. They invited me to keep sending in pictures of models, as they might be interested in purchasing them then.

A Titan game, huh? More competition.
Anyway, better news are the possible release of Epic Tyranids.

Thought I'd bump this while we're back up.

Since board has been re-opened I can now read the document. Thanks.

The Tyranids and Necrons look cool and I also like the  look of Armageddon pattern Medusa.

Let's hope that this new hard resin works and that FW can release Epic infantry.

Cheers

James

I really like the idea of a Titan based game from FW :)

I like'm !!!  I want'm !!!!  :)  Love to see them produced !  I could easily add those Bugz to my 'Nids !  And the Necrons are great !  So if this comes about - I'll have these Necrons, the old Chaos Androids, the WF Androids, not to mention the DRM Andys ... I like it !!!  Toasters of the Galaxy Unite !  :ghost:                    New Titans don't really excite me, but you all know my feelings about Titans. But I'd buy'm any way.  I hope you are correct E&C, about the rock hard resin.  I just finished painting my F/W Epic G/Kngts ... that resin is a nightmare for infantry !  So anyway ... current intel is in a year or more, G/W-F/W wants to do a Titan ...  But we really don't know about the Necron & 'Nids ...  Yes ?

E&C,

Great work mate, to firstly find so many talented people to put these together and your efforts at coordinating it and pitching your idea. Epic certainly needs more of this sort of support. Thankyou for your efforts and I would love to see them produced.

I would like to see this Titan game, and agree with other comments about the possibilities of weapon packs for the current range and some new titans would be very nice.

Thanks again
Aaron

Any new set of Titan models by Forgeworld would not be compatible with the current range, as they would be 'truescale', rather than the 1:500 scale of the current Titans.

Any estimate of how tall that would make the FW warhounds, reaver, and eventual warlord for the new game?

Unless they told you in plain English that the new titans would be a different scale, I find it hard to believe that they'd change and render their current warhound offerings less valuable.

I mean, AI uses the same models as their epic pieces (I know, those were true scale from the beginning), so it isn't unreasonable to expect they keep the titans at the same scale they're currently using.

The FW titans are in a different scale to AI. They scaled their warhound and reaver to match the SG warlord, which is underscaled.

About 20% bigger.

Plain English.

As I said, not really looking for more Titans ... but if the Titans are in "really scale" like the F/W AI Aircraft are compared to G/W Epic Aircraft  :ace: ...  They will be rather large !  :oo:   And expensive !  :oh:   So what would real scale Titans sizes be anyway ?      Again ... I'm hot for the Necrons & Bugz ... but that is just me ...    8v)

I am not too worried. You can play AI with the SG fliers just fine. Since I have a metric ass-load of titans and various weapons, this shouldnt affect me too much.

Would it be cool to have some of the new ones? Hell yeah.

I'd prefer any new Titans were scaled to match old Titans for consistency sake, but I really don't see the need for any new ones.

Fantastic effort E&C and everyone who's been involved with this!!  :agree:  I'd seen hints of this elsewhere but you've done and aimed at way more than I realised!

Pity they would not let you go for option a, that would have been great. Just have to hope FW take this up and run with it I guess. Do they mean to release a titan game in a year or just possibly start working on one then? I suspect they might be more likely to do titan game related models than releasing whole new armies, or at least not without testing the waters with a titan game and maybe doing it then if it was successful, but I could be wrong.

What's with the 'Text Removed' boxes in the pdf by the way? Was some description taken out for some reason?

Wonder if there's anything we can do to help make this more likely? All try to buy some more FW epic to make sure they know there's still a market and also put in epic requests into their 'what would you like us to make in future?' boxes? I pray these get released in some form, they are fantastic models and I would buy masses of them!

Evil and Chaos: Any new set of Titan models by Forgeworld would not be compatible with the current range, as they would be 'truescale', rather than the 1:500 scale of the current Titans.

Yes, but just in the same way that the scale of the titans on the cover of the Epic rulebook and from most other artwork is 'not compatible' with the scale described for the models.

We already have different forge worlds making different patterns of Imperial vehicles, some of which have altered considerably over the millennia to be inferior / smaller / easier to produce that the original sorts. I also imagine some could deliberately/accidentally scale the items produced from a STC template up or down when they make them. e.g compare the size of a lot of the Forge World tanks or aircraft to the SG ones. Can not all the different sized ones just get along happily?

I already have three different patterns of Warlord in my army and would be more than happy to add some new FW titans to the mix too. Cool new titans / titan game could also give EpicA more attention and people giving it a go  :)
