Hi,

as the board is working back again, I submit a question:

does the ability "leader" that grants a +1 to CC is cumulative with any other CC bonus, like the +1 to Caf granted by a Confessor ?

About the Adeptus Ministorum 5.2, the description of "Mother Superior" says she grants a +1 CAF and all Battle Sister units within 10 cm are immune to morale checks. According to the notes of the Mother Superior in the stats table, she is also "leader", this give a +1 to CAF to units within 10cm.
-> Does it mean she give a +2 to CaF or the notes only remind that she grants a +1 to CAF ?

Another question about a french SOB player:

The Penitent Engine Squad description says:"You may take one Penitent Engine Squad for every Confessor in your army" but the Confessor special card is not available to Adeptus Ministorum whereas the support card for Penitent Engine Squad is listed as support for Adeptus Ministorum.

Thanks for your help ;)

The way we have interpreted this, and it can be seen working on the Sisters of Battle vs. Khorne Cultists...
http://www.tacticalwargames.net/forums....41;st=0
...is that so long as the effect comes from a different source then it is cumulative. Combat Leader +1 Caf couldn't be combined with another combat leaders ability within range but if say another unit with another ability adding to Caf was in range then that would work. Just like using different Chaos Reward Cards to add Caf bonuses (Horns, Tentacles, Talons, Fangs etc)... you never get the same one in a battle.

In the above battle I used the Prioress' Combat Leader +1 Caf ability added to the Psychic effect of Embolden +1 Caf and the Medic effect of 5+ save... and in the case of the Sisters Repentia their own ability of Holy Rage +2 Caf and the fact the Sisters re-roll Caf Dice against Chaos. Now this seems extreme, even to me... however, it was a tricky but played for set up. All the effects came from different abilities so where allowed. However, if I had five Combat Leader ability HQ's in range I would still only get +1 Caf for that ability.

If the CC bonus are cumulative, it's an elegant solution :)

Thanks, we enjoy it. It works for all the races and makes sense to us.  :))

I'm trying to find the answer for the other question. I brought something like it up last year here...

Ah, a mistake on my part. I realise now that I had changed things without consulting anyone as I only found the problem the day before play. I had meant to go back and discuss it, but forgot. I just ignored the rules as they do not work well IMO. Instead I used Penitents as I use Space Marine Dreadnoughts... only one detachment allowed (as a support card) per 3000 points... it was a quick fix and needs looking at. I prefer them in the SoB list and not the Frateris... would the Confessor have the time to herd these into battle? Wouldn't he be better used helping the Imperial flock in the front line. I feel the Penitents should be a let lose and forget unit... maybe compulsory movement even?

Notes are just a reminder.  She gives +1.  I also like WHs system for multiple modifiers...cumulative if from different SEs is good.

I fixed the Penitent Engine description so that restriction only applies to Frateris armies.
