Yeah, beastmen are RT-era retro and, considering that there actually were 40K minotaurs, those never really struck me as odd for Epic.  Space trolls on the other hand...  :oo:

I am using the mino's and trolls as my LatD "Big Mutants". I am putting 3 on a base and giving them guns and other mutations.

Thanks Markonz and Onyz :-) A pleasure to have yr feedback and support.

Beastmen finished today:

(bases will be done in a traditional MoK basing spree once the painting is done; how i hate it!)

Bit stumped on where to go next; could paint the cultists, nice and simple...want the demons to be a real dark red with vivid highlights but not sure what to do with the demon engines/lord of battles or land transporters. Big mutants will be clean, crisp beastmen colours and juggernaughts will be another dip job but waiting to get some ronseal off of Ben/EdgarSan...

any pictures/ideas/inspirations for me?
Yrs,

SLowly been winginy my way towards finishing the cultist stands this week. REALLY hate painting those cultist's bodies; fiddyl buggers that they are.
Decided that i'm going to edge the bases black after a couple of test stands.
Also been experimenting on giving the flak jackets on the guardsmen models a bit of a shine using red ink which has worked out well but no picture.
Progress shots below.

When these are based up n ready theyll look fantastic. Like the naked upper bodies, gives em a sort of fanatic feel :agree:

Right then, being back online i guess we'd all better start posting updates.

The cultists are finished:

Oh how i hate painting sometimes! I decided to paint, highlight and wash all of their bracelets!!! Only took a half an hour but seemed like an eternity!

Converted some big mutants for variety; ogyns with hoods like the FW models, some weapon swaps, rebuilds etc, attempts at two really naff chain axes and some reposes. Nowt special

Demons all off bases ready to be taken to my parents in two weekends to use a bench grinder to get rid of those chunky Warmaster base metal bits

Land Transporters drybrushed and washed with metallic base colours.

WOrk starting on the big boys

Hopefully you'll also start seeing some pictures of my Ryza Pattern Custodian Warlord that i'd like to start soon. Anyone got any sugestions for making rocket launchers in place of turbo lasers?

NOTE: such was the size and scope of this project that it ended up with it's own Blog in the end: HERE

With Taccomm's down with my Custodian Titan Conversion i PLay!*
(Bigger pictures can all be viewed at: http://s349.photobucket.com/albums/q381/RyanDownes. I'd like to start a website for it all soon...)

*Project made possible by several very helpful forum members :-)

Carapace, head, bell

Twin Linked Plasma Cannon!

Wrecking Ball!!

Construction Step 1

Stick it all together and what have you got!!! Wrrargh!
[img]http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q381/RyanDownes

Just need to give it some rocket pods in the turbolaser slots and to create a suitable 'Custodian themed' piece of leg armour on the front stepping leg before painting can begin.  Would also like to add a couple of FW chimera turrets as Carapace Mounted Multilasers but that can come at a later date.
Back to LatD in the meantime...

Test scheme for Land transporters; minus crew painting.
Happy enough with how they've come out so look forward to having them all done.

MOK does not stand for Man of Kent. It stands for Man of Koolness!

Awesome stuff dude. Keep it up.

MoK, what was the thickness of the plasti card you've used for the trucks?

Kinda almost ready to do something similar.
