I'm doing a lot of projects right now. Among them, the Spider Mech for Comfy
Chair games.

Size is going to be 2 inches in span, 1 inch height to the top of the body.
Most weapons are 1/2 to 3/4 inches tall. They're designed as a security drone
or remote controlled bot, but I can see them crossing over into Mech games.

28mm, would be about 10 feet across.  Smart Car sized.
15mm, would be about 17 feet across.  Small Sedan sized.
1/144th/N Scale, would be about 28/29 feet across.  Tank sized.
Epic Scale, would be 60 feet across.  YEAH BABY!  Baby titans, here we come.

Best,
JBR

It needs a different shape for the rear pod... Tachikoma, this is your tank on sugar!

OTOH, with a slightly reshaped tail, it'll be great for the HAW206 heavy tank from Ghost in the Shell SAC.

Added a few bits.  I throw freebies in sometimes for my clients.

The gatling hood mounts over the sensors, but doesn't block them completely.
The 28mm-scale crew hatch takes the place of the main weapons mount.
The Small Scale cockpit turns the beast into a mech for 15mm/N-scale/Epic-scale gaming.

Best,
JBR

Looks like Comfy Chair Games is getting into a 6mm Mech style game. They have some of their first spider mechs up in their store already. Called W.i.l.d.fire.

Comfy Chair Webstore

I bought 2. They look killer. Great job JBR!

I got my spiders today. All I can say is 'WOW'!  I knew they would be big, but when I picked up my package I thought Merv just sent me a pewter brick. For a single piece cast, the spider is amazing. Lots of detail and minimum mold lines. I can see why they decided to go with separate legs going forward though. These take up a lot of room with the legs already attached. This is an impressive mini for the price, and I havent even gotten to the weapons. The kit outs I got are great not only in casting, but design too. I really cant wait to see more of them.  :agree:

So I got a couple of the niffty MechSpiders and wanted to put them together as fast as I could.

I bought a Widowmaker and Fang Spider. Seeing as there are no rules yet, I dont want to get totally tied down with only 2 variants. I also dont know if there will be weapon firing arcs (the design of the mechs would make this an option). Taking these into account, and looking at the design, I came to the conclusion that these are very easy to magnetize. So now I have a Widowmaker, Huntsman, Fang Spider, and uh.. Widowmaker with fangs of lead death.

I found that while these do not NEED a base, the heavy handed way I handle things means that I would be looking at all sorts of trouble if I did not base them. I used a 60mm flat disk as the base. GW used to sell these, but I am not sure if they still do.

And here is a size comparison.

Cant wait to paint these.

Yeah, they're crazy good. I have no idea how this sort of mold is made.

Those are really sweet.
You should talk Merv into making 60mm bases.

Nice looking model, not sure what it could 'count as' in epic. I'd almost be tempted to say a deathwheel...

60mm flat bases still available from GW online store. Got some just four days ago.

Slap some Dark Eldar weapons on it...
