Hi All,

Onto the Ork book for editing and wanted to clarify some stuff around the Gargant weapons, and ask about a missing one.  So:

- Cluster Buster - this is clearly a Slasher arm mounted weapon.  I will assume the line on the location table saying it is a centreline mount weapon was just accidently put up one row too high.

- Battle Cannon turret - The stats were missing for this in the 5.0 Book, so given the points cost of 50 it was given stats the same as the Battlecannon head.  However, I do note that the original Battlecannon turret only had one shot, and it is possibly a bit too good at 50 (Head is 65 and -1 Armour to the location).  Resolve or ignore?  (I did think we could reduce it to 1 shot, make it 35 points, and make the dud Scorcher turret 15.)

- Gutbuster Mega-Cannon - in the Titan Legion era, a new version of the Great Gargant was released that included a Gutbuster that also got 3 auxilliary "Gutbuster Battle Cannon" (75cm 3 5+ -2).  Should this be added as a centreline mount option, and if yes, how much?  I'd suggest 150.

Yeah, I agree... it's an arm weapon... isn't it?

- Battle Cannon turret - The stats were missing for this in the 5.0 Book, so given the points cost of 50 it was given stats the same as the Battlecannon head.  However, I do note that the original Battlecannon turret only had one shot, and it is possibly a bit too good at 50 (Head is 65 and -1 Armour to the location).  Resolve or ignore?  (I did think we could reduce it to 1 shot, make it 35 points, and make the dud Scorcher turret 15.)

Er... the turret always was one shot... at least when I check the old Warlords rule book and the later SM battle Book it is. I think 50 is too high... it's a bit of a dud weapon too.

This is what the normal gutbuster centreline cannon could do while the main weapon (the gutbuster) was re-loading. It may be in the SM Battle Book too... IIRC. There are three battle cannons along the sides and top of the Gutbuster... so it's represented... at least in the old models. Whither it should go in..? I tried using it twice. On both occasions I found it to be a bit overwhelming so didn't use it again the whole game... Hey! maybe they should be one shot only... like a hold out weapon.

I figure as long as it's costed properly it shouldn't be a problem...?

What should the cost of the Battle Cannon turret and Scorcher Turret be?  Does 25/15 seem reasonable?  They then work well with the other Gargant weapons for points.

25/15 sounds perfect... I'll still be outfitting mine with the legal since the SM days pair of shoulder fitted Supa-Lifta Droppas... but then I'm just interesting and mad that way. :p

Supa Lifta-Droppa: Great, Mekboy and Mega-Gargants may be fitted with this shoulder-mounted weapon.

Hey!.. It says so in v5 too... Huzzah!  :vD

um... perhaps, but if you are used to the old SM costs then it was 850 points in the old days and now it is 840 point...  :)) I am doing the happy Ork dance. I think 9VP would be well earned for killing this too. It is worth it's points even if it is more expensive than some Main Battle Titans of other races. I like the look of this one for most opponents and would love to use it on the Tyranids.

Great Gargant Body 400 points.

Gork Head 50 points (c/w Observation Turret)
GutBuster 100 points (now c/w three battle cannon for use when re-loading)
Ripper Fist 65 points (also has ranged attacks too)
Gatling Cannon 75 points
2x Super Lifta Droppa shoulder mounts 150 point total (BTW these used to be able to make a grab attack in close combat but that ability was forgotten  somewhere along the line - pre-NetEpic)

Ok, it is mostly moderate ranged attacks but I normally stay away from normal ranged weapons (weird Ork Mekboyish weapons are an acceptable exception) that hit over long distance on a 3+ ...I just think that Orks should have less accuracy and more shots or TSM.

You ain't getting a Gutbuster with 3 extra Battlecannon for 100 points  :glare:

Good spot on the SLD, although that was only in the WD/Battles Book article for that specific new model GG they released around Titan Legions IIRC.  Dunno if we want to add it back on though really?

Awww man!..  :sigh:  ...but if the Gutbuster goes up in price I can't do the happy Ork dance anymore...

Dunno if we want to add it back on though really?

Yeah, I'm not sure it was all that much use anyway. Just like the Power Fist and it's ilk... who would really miss them?..

...kind of makes a case for improving the power fist (and others like it)  don't you think? Maybe a slight Caf bonus +2 or +3 Caf... what ever it is for the Hellblade on the Lord of Battles but keep the grab ability.

Hi!

If the "upgraded" gutbuster is used as standard and both can be fired I'd say 150 sounds about right.

If its "either or" then a lower price is better (100 sounds right).
