I got contacted by a dude on the RelicNews forums about joining TacComs:

At any rate, I'm not registered on the TacCom boards- it wouldn't let me get past the registration screen. I'd fill in the details, hit accept- whoa, great big screen of broken code and errors. I'm guessing the requests for verification never got through.

Can anyone help this guy?

Are these problems still ongoing? All members need to be approved by me to stop spam, and so there is sometimes a delay of up to 24 hours between registering and being able to post.

Is this guy attempting to log in during our current connection limited issues? If he is getting a 'max_connections' error then this is something that I am currently working on, but for now he should try logging in at a different time.

Otherwise, can you point me to the Relic thread, or tell him to contact me with his registered username and I will get this sorted asap.

Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me.

This dude's user id is probably Imrix, but I've forwarded what you wrote to him and will post this same info on the RelicNews Epic thread.

Thanks for your help with this, man.

Update from the dude in question, who seems to have tried to sign up as "N/A" (looks to me like using "N/A" as his username is the problem).

Here's the error message he sees:

Ooops an error has occurred
IkonForums has exited with the following error:

Can't query the data from 'member_profiles' Reason: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'A''

This error was reported at: line 1 Query: SELECT * FROM tac_member_profiles WHERE MEMBER_NAME = 'N'A'

Please note that your 'real' paths have been removed to protect your information.

What do you think? Let me know if you want me to relay anything to this guy.

I have checked the database, and no user by the name of N/A exists. I suspect that this was never created due to the '/'. Can you suggest that this guy tries to register again, without the use of 'non-standard characters', and see if he has more success?

Thanks.
