Just wondering about a couple of slightly weird bits in the AMTL.  

- Mechanized Companies have command Rhinos.  Should this be Chimera?
- Why does the Defense Company have a Mechanized command?  Should it be a Chimera?
- Should all the Special Characters get Chimera too?
- Hunters instead of Hydras?

No preference, just thought I'd ask before I finish the edits.

- Why does the Defense Company have a Mechanized command?  Should it be a Chimera?
- Or should not it be mechanized ? A rhino is acceptable and a chimera could fit well too.

- Should all the Special Characters get Chimera too?
- No, rhinos are OK for special characters. So you can use your special characters with standard IG/SM/others lists.

- Hunters instead of Hydras?
In the 5.2 I have under my eyes, they have hunters and no hydras, I would say that hydras would better fit in an AMTL army. For a less expensive AA cover, you can place a Cerberus AA Gun on reaver or on warlord titans.

Defense Company - I ask because this Company was originally designed to ride around in an Imperator, so the Rhino is a bit problematic :D.

Yes, in V5 they get Hunters.  This seems to be a Marine only weapon and is Rhino based, so I too thought Hydras would be a better fit.

I did think that now IG get Chimera/Mechanized Companies maybe the AMTL should use (cheaper) Rhinos and Rhino based vehicles so they are different  :oh:

I really like the chimeras for AMTL. They do not really need rhinos and in the past old days, first mechanicus troops appeared with chimeras. I think Chimeras is a good choicefor AMTL troops.

For the defense company, the command rhino can be removed if they are normally inside the Imperator.

Yes, we already do.

No command vehicle at all. They are a security detail for the Imperitor... that is their vehicle.

I think AMTL would have it all... and at cost. Leman Russ, the lot. They make the damn things for gosh darn-it sakes.

Limiting the AMTL list is counter fluff... and overcosting units is horrible games mechanics IMO so I'm keeping my fingers crossed here... but I have a bad feeling about where NetEpic has been going.

Limiting the AMTL list is a good thing. If thre's no limitation, players may play a full IG army under AMTL list and will not suffer from the IG command chain and bad morale value (AMTL troopers have generally a 3+ morale value). An AMTL should be played with a lot of titans & knights, not with a lot of Leman Russ & foot troops.

It was just an idle musing and kind of a reverse dig at the fact that the IG list has all the ATML goodies now.  I wasn't really serious about taking the signature unit away from AMTL  :(

I favor the use of chimeras. The rhinos are a hold over from the old lists.

I'd give them Hydras too.
