Some Tau reinforcements have arrived!

They're soaking is soapy water overnight to get rid of any mold release.  Got a pack of Ion Cannon Hammerheads and two packs of Piranhas/Tetras... both were mispacked... with *TOO MANY* of each... so, now I've got lotsa extra!   :agree:

Hope to get them primed over the weekend.

Puts me at 3000 points of Tau!  WOOT!   :agree:

And another test of my "Red Devil" elite Tank Cadre paint scheme... this time with camo!

Nice :) Love the camo :)
But i think the darker grey would look better than the bright one on the red Hammerhead :)

Well, the majority of my Tau will be in the grey "urban" camo, but I'm planning on having one formation with "dark red" as the base instead of the dark blue-grey... the backstory being that the Cadre received some mis-coded camo paint and the Drones, being Drones, just sprayed it on, because the *label* said it was "blue-grey"...

And that's how the "Red Devil" Cadre was accidentally started... story to continue later...

The dark red is very effective. Keep up the good work  :agree:

Used sparingly throughout the army I think the red will make things 'pop' nicely.

Really loving your Tau force Chroma. The basing and the camo scheme work perfectly together.

Thanks all!

One of the problems is that the camo and bases are working a little *too* well together!  The models start getting lost in the scenery at times!  *laugh*

I don't think so (at least compared to their bases). The huge "blocks" of color differentiate it well from the bases.

Ah, as long as YOU keep track of your goodies, then that little fact may help you in your games.  I think we've all played at least one game where a small beaten down formation (usually the lone surviving unit) is forgotton for an entire turn. :vo

Here's a demo shot of my Tau "Fire Warriors" using DRM's Kraytonian "Personal Guard"

The picture ain't great and the models aren't done, but if gives a sense of the size of the models... I think they work great for alt-Fire Warriors, and... for the about the cost of a *single* pack of Forge World Fire Warriors (Only five stands, which doesn't even give you enough for a a full Cadre) you can get *THREE* Cadres worth of "Personal Guard" alt-figs... that's twenty-four stands!!!
