Dont remember me ever using the vortex missile but ive been thinking of trying it against something that has a bigger base than a titan cause its so easy to just scatter away. Against a big gargant it should do wonders since they will more likely be in the area of the vortex and get the 1d6 hittable damages and loose all shields.

Any other ideas of how to use this weapon?

I've had limited success with these. They look great but Warp Missile is better if you truly want to kill something deader than a dead thing.

I did manage to kill an Imperitor with a Vortex once, your right to go for big targets but to be honest you still need to be lucky to hit the target and defeat any psychic saves there may be. It would mangle a Mega Gargant pretty well I would imagine.

Chaos Greater Daemons wouldn't like it either but you need the lucky hit scatter result or a room full of Greater Daemons for this to work.

I like how it just hoovers up terrain but have never had much opportunity to see this work to any advantage.

Yeah, most people seem to plump for the Warp missile, but the Vortex would be potentially devestating against a Mega Gargant who really just chuckle at Warp Missiles.

Hi!

Vortex is good when facing "imperial" type titan or their chaos analogues. It virtually guarantees a kill in those cases.

Its good to put a "dent" in ork titans, mind you I have seen them "walk away" alive from blasts of these things.

Praetorians are especially good targets. Slow, large and many locations on the templates to make it go... boom!

Its a trade-off. Its a costly sucker, but adequately used it can be devastating to your opponent.
