And while at it...  :p

Anyone got those pesky Wizkids wannabe Battletechs?

Especially starter packs...

I've got some clicky Mechwarrior in storage, nothing still in-box though, anything in particular you're looking for?

I think I've got a horde off eBay but I'm unsure as I don't play this game so know fek all about it. IIRC they were advertised as Mechwarriors. They are plastic walkers and battlesuit style robots (a little bigger than an Epic Imperial Knight) with detachable weapons. I bought them for the weapons but may trade if you make it worth while...

I've got a stack of stuff as well. I may have one of the original Mechwarrior demo kits kicking around also, but will need to dig it out.

Anything specific you want or just general things?

Just about anything really and the Rules!. I'm partly trying to get into CBT (Classic Battletech), partly looking to see what Wizkids did to it and partly (mainly) looking to see if BT/MW can be extracted and interpolated into Frynt. (The problem is similar to WE's in Epic but more complex.)

So if you would be happy to dig 'em out I'll be happy to trade 'em of your hands.
Thalaric and Chroma need to give a hint on interests, Warhead... Another bag o'squares?
Warhead, it's them "clicky" ones we're talking about.

Erik M,

I used the MW stuff to play "N" scale CBT, using the miniature rules for CBT and the MW stuff. The sculpts and scale of the MW stuff is a mixed bag; some are decent and accurate, but some are absolutely awful. If you played CBT back when I originally did, in the days when Technical Readout 3050 had just come out, some of the MW mechs will make you want to cry. They look nothing like the originals (Centurion) and when they are somewhat similar (like the Panther), the scale is way off (that light mech is roughly assault-sized).

There are benefits, though. MW plastics are super-easy to kit-bash, there is no shortage of N scale terrain to be had for cheap, the pieces are often a bargain, and you can get model kits that are similar in scale. Robotech/Macross kits are particularly handy if you can get them in the right size (often 1/200 or so), because they look exactly like the old "Unseen" mechs of old. There is also a small community of people on the CBT forums (or at least that is where I found them) that are making resin...homages...to mechs that don't have quality MW equivalents. They can really help to flesh out a force.

If you haven't already, head over to the CBT forums and check out the work of the famous (or infamous?) Space man spiff. He works in the MW scale, often using MW originals, and they look fantastic. Of course, he also sculpts many of his own mechs, which can make discerning what is available to normal people and what is pure "spiff" difficult for newbies, but it will give you a feel for that scale. It isn't popular, but I think it can look great.

This doesn't really help you with finding mechs - and I'm sorry if you already knew all this! - but I thought I would share some hard won knowledge. I was out of CBT for a long time and coming back and trying to determine what they had done - and what scale to use, etc. - was a nightmare. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any help.

- Chris

Right!
How was it now... Plastic or pewter bikes? Are there special E40 plastic bikes?
And then I got 6 EA Rhinos and 5 EA LandSpeeders.

Either/or. I'm basically looking to build a white scars force and so I need a "lot" of the modern style E:40k or E:A bikes. 16 stands at 3 bikes to a stand for a total of 48 bikes is what I'm shooting for currently :).

E40 didn't have any special plastic bikes as far as I know, they just happened to come as part of their infantry sprue before they all were seperated and recast in metal.

Thanks  Titivillus, that was most informative on how to go ahead over there. It's quiet an active forum!

Thalaric ~ Still not sure what you might want.
I have:
Plastic SM bikes
EA Rhinos (6)
EA Land Speeders (5)

The bikes and land speeders should do it :) Are the bikes the old SM-era ones?

Wanted to hold off and see what I had exactly before putting a list of wants though.

Fine.
As far as I can see the 1990 and 1996 sprues have the same bike.

Ah, ok I missed that.

Do you want tanks and/or parts or just whole models?

As a former National Champion (might as well blow that trumpet   ), perhaps unsurprising that I have a number of large boxes of Mechwarrior stuff lying around.

The Starter basically had 2 small Mercenary forces bases around a Jade Hawk and a Mangonel, some small cardboard (flat) terrain pieces, the rules, equipment card + obligatory tape and dice.  I've probably still got a starter hanging around, but I've  probably also still got the PDFs for the rules and stuff so send me an email if that's all you need.
