I do a new unit for eldars (my favorite army), the Vampire hunter based on the FW miniature.
Tell me what you say.

Vampire Hunter v0.2

Otherwise I have other designs like that but they are in French. If you agree I put on the forum.

Mog,
in preparation the vampire raider.

Edit v0.2 : modification of the movement

Nice work on the rules and the card!

Have to say I think the points costs are way wrong though!  Flyer + Superheavy + Holofields + 100cms movement + 100cm weapon range (effectively) + mega weapon load out.....this version would be almost invulnerable, and is heaps better than a Phoenix bomber costing 300 points.  I think it would need to cost 400 points, and is only that low because of the low save and CAF.

in fact only the description said that the vampire is super-heavy but I did not in the rules.
Maybe it is confused ?  :vo
I can reduce the movement to 75 cm.
For the cost, i compared with the revenant titan, more stronger, more armed, better holofield.

You must cost in Flyer though.  This is what makes it too strong.  If the Revenant could fly they'd probably cost 600 points each!  If your Vampire was a tank with 25cm move 200 points might be reasonable, but a flyer that can't be targetted by a lot of units, gets an extra -1TSM to all shots and can force the enemy to add 25cm to range is a HUGE advantage.  You must compare to other flyers to work out a points cost.

Hi!

Mogwai, once you finalize it send it to me at:

pramos10@cox.net

I'd like to get it into the optional book.

Maybe it is much too strong but in comparison with the marauder destroyer, it is approximately equal.

Marauder destroyer (400 pts for 3 models)
Mvt 70 cm/Save 2+/CAF +2/moral 3
Battlecannon/50 cm/2/4+/-2
Lascannon/50 cm/4/5+/-1
Melta bombs/-/6 BP/4+/-3

Vampire hunter (200 pts for 1)
Mvt 75 cm(i prefer like that)/Save 5+ & holofield/CAF 0/moral 3
twin linked Pulse laser/75 cm/1d3 hits or template/2+/-2 or 0
Scatter laser/25 cm/3/50
Missiles/50 cm/2x template/4+/-1

I can also put the missiles as bomb-like.

As you can see, the save is almost the same. With holofield in advance order, the vampire has 4+ save and the marauder (except against thunderfire squat and exocrine tyranid) has often a 3+ save, sometimes 4+ and they are 3 per squadron.
For the firepower, with 2 vampires I have a very good main weapon but the others are weak in comparison

The clear difference is the Marauder's range is short so it must fly close enough to be engaged by enemy AA.  With the one exception of the single shot from the Squat Thunderfire, you're Vampire has the same or better range than every AA unit out there.  Against Tyranids this unit would be basically invulnerable, and with that to hit roll, destroying something major every turn.

Compare it to the Phoenix or Tau Tigershark AX-1-0....they are 300 and 400 points respectively.
