That's a nice collection.
Well, forgeworld quality is totally "random".
Sometimes it's perfect, sometimes it's ugly, sometimes it's awfull (pieces missing or very very bad cast).

Even if you can solve it, it's a bit problematic for a society which makes you pay huge prices.
Buy some other minis in resin, there is no issue like this and it's cheaper :(

It is good to hear that they replace things that get lost in the warp of the postal service. My first few FW orders went very smoothly, but my most recent one - Ork Bommers - has been open for 4 months. They even claimed that it was sent about a month ago, which I believe, but it has never arrived. I will give it a bit more time, in case it is stuck in customs, but if it doesn't show, I will call them back. It seems odd that they would have several shipments to different customers go missing in transit.

As for the warhounds, I should have some arriving soon as well. I will take a look at those and see if they have the same problem that has been described.

I echo what everyone else says- FW does a very good job of replacing orders with no questions asked.  I sometimes wish they WOULD ask questions (maybe it would help in their quality control) but they've chosen to do business this way.  It may just be that it is cheaper for them to do things haphazardly on the front end and fix a smaller percentage of orders on the back end.  There is nobody to compete with so as long as the customers keep coming back I doubt they will ever change.  And the point about bitz... I must admit I secretly wish for them to mess up something in my order so I can have the extra bitz to play with.  I was disappointed on my last order when everything arrived in perfect condition. :p

Bad FW giving you high quality goods and not letting you complain about it! :))

I got a Marauder destroyer when I asked for a regular bomber. They sent t he replacement immediately. That was a long time ago now.

Just the start of their mess ups for me. And like the sap I am I keep coming back. Damn resin and plastic crack!

Well each of the items that had problems with it I made notes on the specific problem. Not just "it's fracked gimme a new one."

The guy I spoke with asked very detailed questions about why the product is defective, and without making it sound like he was giving me the third degree I might add!

So with luck FW are canging their ways, or more likely when they have to replace well over 100 pounds of stuff they start to take things a bit more seriously.  :glare:

Well the good thing about F/W is usually(AFAIK 99%), eventually they replace the items ...  The other good thing on a personal note, for me is I've got all the F/W Epic/AI I want ... 8v)   Unless they release new 6mm stuff ... and I don't see that happening anytime soon ... if ever ...

They never arrived and they re-sent them immediately.
Unfortunately they sent the wrong Reaver. Curiously, it was the right label on the blister but the contents did not match the label. I sent another email and they sent out a replacement imediately. Unfortunately, it was the same problem again...

On the plus side you appear to have a steady supply of forgeworld Reavers.  :D

Forgeworld clearly prefer to fix orders than quality control. As far as I'm concerned that suits me fine - with every forgeworld order I get a bunch of spare parts!

I think the epic stuff has more issues though. The large titans are much better cast.

If by "large" Titans you mean 40K scale I have a 40K Revenant that is immaculate. In fact I've never had a problem with miscasts on their 40K stuff. Just one missing piece that they replaced fairly quickly.

I hate to say it, but it may be a case of Epic not having as high a priority as 40K.

I also think it's a case of a lot of their newer 40k stuff being new, hence newer molds! *laugh*

Well this makes me sad. I placed an order about 2 weeks ago for a mix of Falcons, Wave Serpents and Chimeras, and was anticipating them, but this thread now has me a bit worried.

Hopefully everything will come through ok. Although I will admit that I wouldn't mind getting extras

I expect it will be a case of you recieve some miscasts/broken parts like me. Get some replacement parts. They are a little buggered too.

So hopefully somewhere between repeating your order twice you have enough bits to mix and match and make one complete set.

I doubt there will be many "extras".

Sadly, that is what I suspect will be closer to the truth. Hence why I'd rather try and find a bright side to things while waiting for my stuff to show up.

But as many here seem to agree we are paying a premium for a sub-premium product but that's another story. Yes I have filed my trim into some semblance of shape but I should not have to.

D.

Yup!  And then there's the matter of filling in recesses; making sure they're flat and flush; redoing panel lines during or after putty cure; in all probability touching up the redone panel lines; redoing bits of trim; redoing details like access hatches, ladders, AM symbols etc...

Add in a healthy portion of obsession and it all takes a bit longer.
Yes, that's before the obsession.

I'll have to try and get my finger out.  I've got a couple of warlords and an imperator to fix up too.  And then try a scratch-built lucius reaver.

I ordered over Aus$900 worth of Epic Tau from them last year and had nothing but trouble.  Things were missing or incorrectly packed (two of my "Orcas" were actually Thunderhead Gunships despite the label on the bag).  Most of my Hammerhead tanks were so poorly cast it was incredible.  The molds were mis-matched by up to 2mm in most cases and right across the detail areas.  You could not re-shape them without carving off most of the detail.

Repeated calls and emails resulted in several shipments of replacement parts.  By the time of the third replacement shipment in which the Hammerhead bodies were still extremely poor I was told by Forgeworld that I was "...obviously a modeler of very limited skill and that we (Forgeworld) could obviously not meet your exacting standards."  I have been modelling for over 20 years and they had the gall to say that to me!

In their defence they did refund me the cost of the Hammerheads and they did do everything they could to replace them but in the end I was appalled at the comments they emailed to me.  Their manner was quite rude towards me in the last two pieces of correspondance.  I won't do business with them directly again.

I won't order FW anymore either; absolutely no quality control in process.  I'm not worried about them fixing it on the back-end of the deal, I want it fixed before they ship it.
