Vector thrust for the skimmer is a good idea. Now that I think about it, maybe making it a bit bigger and putting an androids sitting next to/fused to the guns would be cool too.

Looking at these again this morning, it would be nice to have a couple of models in profile, as opposed to the front on look. Perhaps putting the light on in a pose similar to the Harlequin:

@PG - Comment away on what you like to see, John has this thread's URL.

All Hail Mr. Ross !!!  "We're not worthy !", "We're not worthy!"  :ghost:  ... Where do I send my $$$ ?!     On a serious note ... come on guys ... those are brillant !  We'd be very, very fortunate to get those as they are in 6mm !   But as Neal mentioned, make sure they are modeller/gamer friendly ... Remember the F/W nightmare of Epic scale Tau, Kroot and Gray Knights ... I'm going to have to put an SM1/2 banner pole on each stand so I can pick them up ...  Not to mention the "challenge" in filing bases, remove flash, etc., etc.  Now I know part of that is F/W poor choice in choosing a resin that is too brittle, which I believe they have improved on.  However "N" ... I mean if these are models are made in the standard plastic like say the G/W Epic models, they will be better from a "survivability" standpoint.  I'm kind'a of excited about this whole project !    But I think we have to steer clear of "N-word Doppelgangers", for obvious reasons.  And again generally these look fine to me !  :))

I forgot about this guy until I was perusing John's site again:

That screams serpentine to me.  Thoughts?

Dave I think that last sketch is perfect for the serpentine android!

The John Bear Ross sketches have pushed me over the edge. I'm in for 10 sprues.  I'd actually prefer they stay somewhat away from a heavy Necron influence, as I like Ross' CAV figures, but I won't really be offended either way.

I suspect WF wants to stay far enough away from the watchful gaze of GW legal that this first sprue will be a success and not Exhibit A in a lawsuit.

i agree w/ pretty much everything nealhunt said
the second pic of the serpentine is great
vtols just don't seem right, but seeing the actual piece might make me change my mind
as far as the whole looking to much like terminator then the n word, correct me if i'm wrong but didn't gw prett much steal the concept from terminator in the first place? so the idea of a more terminator appearance is kind cool
i realize it's been mentioned several times but the blades instead of pistols is a good idea, as is the staff weapon comment
overall cannot wait to get my hands on these

GW legal would have a very hard, uphill battle if they believe they own the concept of a mechanical skeleton holding a gun. They might be greedy, but I don't think GW's lawyers are stupid.

I think it bears stating, too, that the above sketches were hand-drawn by JBR as possible concepts, but that he normally does all his sculpting using Rhino3D.  So, there's still plenty of room for tweaking and whatnot, for those with comments and concerns.

Unless it changes alot, I see the large skimmer as a great proxy for Vultures/Valkyries.

I'd also like to 5th, 6th, whatever the idea of segmenting the armor to give more of a skeletal look.

I like the skimmers, although I just don't see them being good Nec proxies.  But that is okay!  It distinguishes the sprue from GW that much further and I think the skimmers would make excellent Imperial vehicles, or maybe pirate vehicles?  A good piece for a human army that is non-Imperial Guard.

It is relatively easy to proxy for Necron Skimmers now, and I like the designs as is.  If anything, it would be cool if they were more like the Terminator ones.  Using the big one as a Valkyrie proxy would be neat too!
