Thanks for the thumbs up guys! :)

Right, the next title I'm going for is "The Bridge". I'm going to make this a WWII image but not with action and death but serene and calm.

Picture this - a misty, wintery morning. In the distance, through the mist, you can just about make out an eastern European town. Snow lays in patches on the wet, muddy ground. In the mid-ground there is a waterway with a small bombed bridge, now useless to the protagonists who want to cross and retreat from the pursueing Russian onslaught.

Now I'm thinking of having an SdKfz250/9 recce halftrack but what German vehicle do you guys reckon would be good for this?

SdKfz250/9 -

Right, here are a couple of sketches.

I can't decide what perspective to go for!

The Bridge A

The Bridge B

Right, I've fiddled around a tad more - I think this perspective works a lot better and helps tell a story.

What do you guys reckon?

The prespective looks better. Though one might think they'd use road instead of going though forest (at least the two trees there kinda hints such terrain).

Cheers Hena! :)

The trees are merely there as a border to help roughen up the edges of the pic a bit, make it less tidy.

My excuse for them not using the road? Umm.... maybe they don't want to be spotted by aerial recon?  :agree:

Right, this is a WIP.

2hrs in so far, I've just been getting the colours blocked in. This is gonna be a difficult picture to produce as I want it to be a misty morning with the details of the blown bridge showing through the fog...  :oo:

30mins in Photoshop CS1.

I suppose this could kinda be used for the Black Crusade supplement???

Nice job on both.  The WWII I can already tell is going to be a good one- it's a great perspective to start off with and the lines on the bridge are great.

Decide for yourself but not all bridges are the same. I get a distinct impression that Arnhem Bridge had a lot to do with the look of this picture and Arnhem Bridge not only crossed the river but also crossed the road and through and into the town where the embankment proper was.

The pics hopefully let you see what I mean. I couldn't find any better, sorry. If not then perhaps you get the idea anyway... most people have seen the film A Bridge Too Far.
