DS and I are starting to think about the tournament for this year.
With father's day being one week later this year we were thinking
either June 13th-14th or 27th-28th. It also, rather conveniently,
allows us to work around the Toronto Games Day...

If you're interested in attending this year please let us know so we
can start to sort things out with the Time Machine in Manchester, CT.
We had 6 players last year and after some recruiting I'm hoping we can
get 8 this year.

Also, feel free to pass this on to whoever you like. Once we hear from
people about the dates I'll start sending out flyers.

Thanks,

Edit:

NEAT-II will be on Saturday, June 27, 2009

Friday and Sunday will be open for gaming as well.

What would be the maximum number of players you could accommodate if I managed to get a Canadian Crew together?

As long as it doesn't conflict with Games Day in Baltimore (which I've already committed to running the Epic tournament again) then I'd be most likely attending your event again.

There is room for 14. We might be able to fit 16, but it could be a little tight.

I checked Mosc. it's in May this year. I should be able to attend that as well.

Ya I'd say 16 tops Chroma. If we could get that many though I consider getting a bigger area and just having people bring there own terrain.

Cool. Then I am good to attend barring some unforseen cataclysm.

You just HAD to jinx it, didn't you Bill... with the U.S.A. now having a black president, if the movies have taught me anything, there's a big, potentially world-ending cataclysm right around the corner... damn you Morgan Freeman, DAMN YOU!!!

I think I'd rather have Morgan Freeman as President than BHO (he has more experience) but anyways...

Yeah, there is always the potential for a meltdown in some capacity.  But given the current state of affairs I'd say the chances are higher (personally and nationally).  Loss of job, another car repair, work emergency, terrorist attack, market meltdown, dogs & cats living together, mass hysteria, etc.

If none of those things happen though I'm good.  I'll also be posting the info for the tournament at Games Day: Baltimore soon too (thanks for the reminder, Dave!).

Sigh. Yet another year of me not traveling for a tourney. Got my first kid coming end of march (damn shipping times), so that means i go nowhere. That sounds fun though.

Well, you never know.  Month #2 isn't so bad if you have family close-by and you can make it a 'day thing' (i.e. not spending the night).  Try to make plans for your wife to spend a whole day out away from the baby in April and explain that you both need time to unplug.  It's not only true, but it sets you up for a day in May (or June) to hit a tournament.

Take it from a man with two kids.  Oh, and congrats!

Heh, both of those locations are well away from Michigan and any family, extended or otherwise.

As a parent of 'more mature years' I would say take whatever breaks you can get over the next 25 years or so, while providing all the care and support that is inevitably needed. Here perhaps you might suggest a short stay with her parents, which may enable you to take a 'welcome break' as well. :p
