I also scored an unpunched copy of Wooden Ships & iron Men by Avalon Hill circa 1975.

Keep your powder dry!  :D

WS&IM, that brings back memories. What a great game. Unfortunately I was never able to play it as much as I would've like to have.

That Valkalons looks great.

Working on those:

They're all shiny because of the Johnson klir wash, matte varnish will correct it.
This week end, i'll work on the 4 riders.

and I re-did the 28mm fantasy football girl. The one I posted before just wasn't right in so many ways, so I started again.
Cheers,
Reaver

Reaver...That is exactly the kind of female player I'd like for my BB team. Isit going to be available for us or just a one off you did for someone?

If there's a way, I'd love to buy a copy.

Cheers,
Steve.

Motivated by the Tale of Tactical Command Gamers thing I have started work on my Saim Hann in 40K, Epic and BFG.  My Epic army kind of expanded beyond the 3K one for the diary.

I am starting from Testors Coloured Spray, Shading with GW's new inks and then highlighting with blood red and orange.

I don't think I would have even considered this colour scheme without the coloured spray.  I can't even begin to guess how much time it would have cut out of the project but I am sure I couldn't have been bothered if I had to try and get a nice even coat on them all manually.

This is just going to be an extreme batch painting exercise.

For Aspect warriors I undercoated all of them white for Epic so I can get consistent basing (I am doing a light deasert colour that turns out best with a white base) but will vary between black and white undercoats for the 40K stuff depending on how well it suits the aspects colour scheme.

Continuation of my WIP Uncharted Seas fleets (Imperial Humans and Iron Dwarves); the Humans are obviously now not quite imperial but privateers!  I was lazy and did not obtain decals from other sources so I made do with what I had on hand (obviously GW decals).

Both fleets together:

I added marking to differentiate the frigate's detachments and individual vessel:

Human Cruisers; I'm not sure if I will add names for these vessels or simply number them like the frigates.

Human Battleship; The Black Rock!  (Yes, from the show "Lost")

Dwarven fleet; the capital ships now bear a battle axe with lightning bolts marking:

Dwarven capital ships, rear; added some numbers for them.  I had the idea to paint some Dwarven runes in a red/white panzer style but chickened out:

Those ships look really good! Makes me think about looking into the game (checks balance on credit cards...).

I received my first E/W order Saturday afternoon. Everything is assembled, based, and primered, ready for painting. I finished two Khazari Raider Patrols (8 vehicles) last night (pics soon), and will be working on, in order: drop pods, support centuria, mounted raiders, raiders, and assault centuria. I'll also be working on some other units from GZG and Brigade between these (about 60 hovertanks) depending on when they arrive.  :p

* Lord of the Rings miniatures (currently painting):
...+ Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin on ponies

In amongst Iron Warriors and Epic terrain, I've managed to set aside some time for a gift I'm making for some friends.

It's just a simple terrain piece, more decorative than practical (although, knowing my mate, he'll try and use it in a LotR's game ASAP  :vD ).

Just started tonight. Hope to have if finished my the weekend.

Here it is showing where some of the details are going to be once finished.

GZG Drop Pods with landing legs and a bit of detail added ...  Been adding a heavy las-pistol to some of my IG Cdrs + if their sword didn't mold out I trimmed it up to look like a pistol of some sort ...  Well since I took the pistols off Beastmen ... I couldn't leave them "dis-Armed" !   I saw in an old W/D ... Mutated Beastmen - So I added a tentacle ?!   A little Green Stuff and ...
