Good stuff man; makes me wonder about by basing my marine vehicles that are being worked on...Nice and effective; keep 'em coming; we should see who can complete the most lovely looking marines first! Race you to 8K!
R>

Yeah I really enjoy basing my vehicles. There are lots of advantages and really no downsides to it. As far as a race to 8K well I can tell you now that you'll win MoK.  Like I said in my OP I'm lazy when it comes to painting stuff. But all of this feedback on my minis is nice so hopefully I'll be painting more now.

I'm still not convinced about basing all my vehicles, though that vindicator looks really nice. I envy you having small enough decals for this, but good job! it almost makes me want to do BT too.

Malakai, I was convinced that I wouldn't ever base any of my vehicles with the exception of Titans... now I'm convinced that I want you to base all my vehicles instead. Well done, congratulations. the first mountain of stuff will be with you as soon as you PM your details... hey, where are you going, comeback!  :sigh:

A pitiful update I admit, but this mini took me a while to figure out how I want to proceed with the rest of my guys. So in essence he's a test model. Let me know what you guys think.

Edit: I really must figure out how to set the color control on my camera. The reds are coming out very flat, while in real life they are nicely highlighted.

I think it works fairly well but you really should bump up the highlighting on them so they have more definition at normal viewing distance.

Mate,

Great looking Templars, fantastic stuff indeed, looking forward to seeing more of them in the future.

Cheers

Your right about that. Admittedly I was more concerned with sculpting the tabard, constructing the banner, and getting the overall color scheme the way I wanted it.

Hopefully the next batch of guys won't be such a disappointment.

I wouldn't consider them disappointing, they are well done and adding a touch of brighter highlight won't be difficult.

I actually went and took a look at the mdel after I read your post Vaaish. In the picture the gray is mostly not showing up except for the extreme highlight. In real life they look well blended.

The red is exactly the opposite. Hardly any of the red highlights are showing. I even blended them up to a yellow.

It's odd. Either it's my camera settings or the lighting. I only use daylight bulbs and window light so I'm thinking it may be a problem with the camera.

When I figure out the problem maybe I'll go back and update some of the pics that didn't turn out so well.

Thanks for the criticisms as well as the comments guys.

When I post more stuff please keep the C&C coming.

Mate, I wouldn't worry too much about the lighting, I think they look fantastic.

A whole army of them will look very imposing, can't wait to see more!

Cheers,
Steve.
