I decided it was time to see how poorly I did on meeting my '08 resolutions.   Here are the results:

1. Paint more of my Squat army. Nope, didn't touch 'em
2. Paint more Knights, especially some MK I's, which so far I haven't touched. I did paint more Knights, but no Mk I's
3. Work on terrain. Barely started
4. Start another army, even if it's just primering a bunch of stuff. Nope, but see #6
5. Buy EW minis. I did buy a few things, but money was a bit tight last year
6. Start a Traitor Titan Legion. This might become part of #4, depending on how much free time I have. Started, but barely. In '08 I did completely strip all the Titans that needed it.
7. Paint at least one side of my house. Two sides would be better. Nope, the weather didn't cooperate at all last year. It turns out that '08 was the wettest year on record for Connecticut. It was either too hot or too wet to do any house painting

Overall I did very poorly in meeting my resolutions. I didn't have as much free time for painting as I had hoped. Being the DM for my D&D is partially to blame.

So, how did you do? Better than me, I hope.

2008 resolutions (game wise) were simple:

1) Buy some At-43 - I did that
2) Play at least four games - Failed.
3) Organize and sell off some of the extras. - Started, I had three waves of stuff on ebay.
4) Win Lotto so I could play all day - Failed

So I guess I am at 50%

1) Get divorce finalized. Done!

2) Finish painting Ordinatus Mars Damn!

3) Make that damn in-scale Medusa Armageddon-pattern gun housing. And how!

So, numerically 2 out of 3, but the Armageddon pattern enclosure led to bronze fabrication, so that counts as double. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Does that mean you fail every year because you made the one resolution and kept it?  :oo:

I am so confussed.  :_(

I got my Master's degree this August. However, I don't know how much it counts as it was my resolution for 2007 to complete it. :p

I resolved to extend my immortality... so far so good.

Other than that I got nothing I said I would do, done. At least I got the important one out the way.

My main resolution was to play some different games. In 2007 I must have played over 100 games of epic in the year so I decided to get some variety in 2008.

In the year I managed to play, Hordes, WAB, Stargrunt, 40k 5th, BloodBowl, Wings of War and WMA as well as Epic. Stargrunt I only played once but it was fun.

2009 I'm recharged and ready to get back to mostly playing Epic. I'll fit in some of the others too, but the main game of the year will be Epic A.

Painting wise I still have loads of half painted or unpainted mini's for various games but I did finish 80% of my guard and got a 3000 point marine army finished so not all doom on gloom on that front.

Note that we had a 2008 resolutions thread so we can see what you really meant to do!

http://www.tacticalwargames.net/forums....lutions

So here are mine:

Okay...
1) Get one army fully, completely and entirely painted for each of the main systems I play- Epic - Daemonhunters, 40K - Emperor's Children (+ my 3-year-old Forgeworld Warhound!)Fantasy - Vampire Counts (once the new army book gets in my grubby mitts!)I can sculpt and I can paint to a decent degree, so why are my armies so shabby? I want 3 armies I can be proud of!
2) Finalise ITF - Daemonhunters into a nice, supplement-style PDF. This is dependent on getting (1) done first, of course.

Oh yeah, Real Life stuff...
3) Go to the gym every weekday if possible, 3 times a week as an absolute minimum. Determined not to be ashamed at the beach this year!
4) Get a project finalised and research well underway for my own PhD. This will probably require me figuring out where I can get some human testicles to dissect and perform genetic experiments on...
5) Try and sort out my personal life while still achieving (4).

1) Yes, my Emperor's Children are fully painted! The warhound is not, however. My Daemonhunters are almost fully painted (they've been languishing since my wife dropped them, they need quite a bit of work now). My VCs have also been put on ice as they've also suffered a family-mediated disaster, but they're painted. So overall, a success!

2) Erm. Failure. Hey, someone made me Chaos Champion, that's an excuse, right?

3) I kept that up until after the summer, so partial success. Getting flabby again though. Time for a new resolution!

4) Project finalised - done. Research well underway? No. I will never actually finish at this rate.

5) Sorted, or at least stable. Well, a sort of stable spiral into the abyss apparently we're having another baby. Okay, now that I actually think about it, let's count this as a total disaster!

Take a nice break - no long holiday in sight, but at least a break from overload.

Start some serious writing.

Complete one force for Triumph and Tragedy - most likely to be White Russians from the Russian Civil War

Complete my Russian Iron Stars fleet

Complete a decent Aeronef fleet

Start either my Ottoman or my Venetian 15mm army.

Start my Land Ironclads troops and organise a force of sorts.

Paint (40K) Orks

Paint WHFB Undead

Paint up my Andrayads

Start and complete (ha!) one of my Epic armies. Which? IG  and CSM are in a messy state, as are the Orks. Eldar? Ad Mech? Tyranids? SMs? I think Ad Mech are the strong contenders - especially the knights.

Complete any models bought in December, and from then on start a last in first painted system.

Ok, lets have another crack at this (I've had my coffee now):

Take a nice break - nope. But I managed a week off.
Start some serious writing - we-ell..... work in progress
Complete one force for Triumph and Tragedy - nope.
Complete my Russian Iron Stars fleet - nope.
Complete a decent Aeronef fleet - actually - YES!  :vD
Start either my Ottoman or my Venetian 15mm army - nope.
Start my Land Ironclads troops and organise a force of sorts. - nope.
Paint (40K) Orks - nope.
Paint WHFB Undead - I managed to assemble 60% of them at least.
Paint up my Andrayads - nope.
Start and complete (ha!) one of my Epic armies - start, yes; complet....hah ???
Complete any models bought in December, and from then on start a last in first painted system - funny, really funny this...  :_(

Not yet. I was going to start one some time today, but feel free to start it yourself.
