This one looks much better than the green/red/white scheme IMO. I like it a lot.  :alien:

Yeah, I think the purple looks better than the green, but I also agree that Warlock looks too close to red (in fact, I build my reds up from it usually!) I reckon Liche will work better still and give you the contrast you want.

Another idea might be to try a mid-brown like Bestial, and shade with Badab black wash. That would give you a darker more beetle-look, but will need work to make it look good on bigger models (ie, to get not looking like wood!)

I wonder as well whether you'd consider using other paints? I found the Vallejo ranges (Game and Colour) to both be very good - like the Citadel Foundation paints - and Privateer's Formula P3 are lovely too.
Vallejo has more finely ground pigment and P3 uses liquid pigments; this makes them better for washes. All you need to do is use a few drops of Vallejo Glaze Medium with a drop of your chosen paint, and wash the model. It really is that easy, and you can turn any paint colour you want into a wash with it. You might find it easier therefore to get the colours you want without having to limit yourself to GW Washes, inks or anything else, and that it speeds up your Epic model painting without needing to lower your standards.

Just a thought anyway.

///EDIT///
Added a photoshopped pic to show the darker purple:

oooh, i like it! I might try mixing a purple in that case; i like that...i'm quite a fan of having canon 40k colour schemes translated into epic so we might be onto a winner there...

Works brilliantly; see the painting blog for details.
