Hi all.

Looking forward as I am to getting my hands on some Crabbes, I play most of my games at the moment at my local GW, and so my Chaos army needs to have access to defiler proxies that won't cause the wrath of the staff. I'm not going for anything too slick here just something that says 'defiler' is largely made out of GW parts (being quite new to epic, I don't have much confidence with modelling) and is roughly the right size.

Anyway, this is what I've come up with so far (I'm trying to work out what I'm doing with this one, before building three more), the Noise marines and Rhino for scale. I still need to do the Claws and pay more attention to the legs (I plan on stealing someone else's ideas and using plasticard for these bits).
Advice, comments, criticism etc are most welcome :)

edit apologies for the picture quality....

Not bad, not bad at all. I'm no expert by any description but I like the head and chest but the legs do let it down slightly. Can you take a better photo too, this one is a bit blurred.

BTW your Avatar is way creepy.

What bitz are you using? I recognise the head but still can't see enough detail to ID the rest.

The head is one of the 40k weapon heads from the Chaos Accessory sprue, one of the arms is a pair of autocannons 'liberated' from 2nd ed Chaos dreadnoughts and the other is half of (I think) a smoke launcher from the same sprue has the head/cannon.
The body is just a chaos marine torso stuck to a Lizardman shield, but I've stuck the head to the backpack fitting, which leaves some nice detail on the rear.

The legs are the X shape from a sprue of slottabases, with some extra bits of plastic from epic infantry sprues.

I'm not happy with the legs myself at the moment, and would love to hear any ideas.

Hopefully I can borrow my g/f's far better digital camera later...

Try this thread for ideas on the legs... of course you could always wait for developments with Ottermans "Petit crabe de fer en colère" he may if he was feeling kind sell you just the legs and claws. You can but ask.

Well, I plan on getting some of Otterman's Crabbes too, as they are looking sweet! These are just my backup defilers for games where it wouldn't be appropriate to use the Crabbes.

Cheers for the link, I think yuo'e pushed me in the right direction!

:))  Yeah, I think just about everyone wants at least one of Ottermans multi legged resin monsters. Glad to be of help.
