Ding ding! Points to those who recognised the gas cylinders - spot on. The rest of the bits are rather more eclectic and much less recognisable (mostly odd electronics, bits of Macs, fax machines and a washing machine switching box for the bow section), but the central spine is a booster from the Space Shuttle kit (think its a Revvel model).
Its great to disguise parts like this and try to bring a really odd selection of bits together - thinking about how shapes work together is key, and dressing everything with a little plasticard and a sprinkling of model components helps immensely. ÂÂ
I'm glad there is some TTA love here too, excellent taste chaps!
The books are one of the major reasons for my scifi obsession, even if I did come to them 20 years late.... ÂÂ
One of my tasks over the next few months is to paint up my Piranhas and Minnows, so you'll see them at some point.
Anyone interested in a kit, let me know - and if you can remember your favourites from the book, let me know too, I'll be making some of the other ships up sometime soon.
