The ships look really nice, I'm hoping this company sticks around for a while as I've just started working for them.
Let us know how the games go, I'm planning on my first just before christmas.
I'll endeavour to make some higher detailed ships for you all aswell - I'm on sci-fi at the mo.

Next in line, orcs... Orange, again. :)

I also planned to base everything, so that takes some time, but it helps in gaming, and keeps my ships in better condition. Here are first based ones.

Have you guys managed to play? I have managed to have few games, and orcs have won every time. :p

We played our first game if Uncharted Seas today, it was a blast and the rules play very well.  Our game consisted of the starter fleet packs of Dwarves and Humans.  Just a straight up shoot 'em up scenario.

Two detachments of Human Frigates kick off the game by trying to flank:

The iron Dwarves battle group:

Turn 1 ended with one Dwarven frigate being sunk by a trio of Human cruisers:

The Humans devise a new naval "T"

Sneaky frigates getting ready for their run n' gun:

Dwarven cruisers screening the battleship:

A frigate misjudges his turn and strikes the hard rocks and sinks!

I told you those frigates are sneaky, and faster than Dwarf frigates too!

Turn 2 ended with both sides being down two frigates and a cruiser:

Things start to get messy and canon fire is all around:

A critically damaged frigate makes worthless close broadside attack against the Human Battleship:

The lone surviving Human Cruisers decides to throw his weight around and ram a frigate before boarding it and capturing a prize!

The battleship bumps the damaged frigate out of the way suffering a hull point of damage in the process, the frigate is unharmed!

The turn ends with much fewer ships still afloat:

The last Human frigate rams and clashes with a Dwarven frigate, capturing a second prize!

The damaged Human battleship is the sole vessel of Human fleet as it tries to fend off the damaged Dwarven battleship and last two frigates:

The battleships maneuver to fire broadsides against one another while another Dwarven frigate falls prey to being rammed and sunk:

The Dwarven battleship makes a hard starboard turn and catches the Humans in a devastating broadsides that sinks their flagship:

Our lesson from this initial game; Uncharted Seas is fun and frigates rock!

How does it compare to Pirates of the Spanish Main playing wise?

THat sounds like a very fun game :-)
What are the mechanics like? Smooth? Clunky? Detailed? Chess like? etc?
How 'tactical' would you say it is?
Sorry for many questions!

I cannot compare the game to Spanish Main since I have never played the later; I have a copy just never read or played it.

Uncharted Seas plays very well and the mechanics are smooth and consistent.  As fitting with any naval game, maneuvering is more important than even firing.  But even frigates with just a few dice can score lucky hits (a roll of 6 equals two hits and allows another roll, the 6's will stack even!).  So it is not likely a frigate will cripple a battleship but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

My advice if you like naval games is to get this game!

I agree, a must have if you like fantasy naval. :)

Thanks for the report too, you got me inspired. You have painted bases and some water effect on them?

US is quite tactical in movement, but that you are able to roll lucky sixes (means unlimited number of possible damage) and those cards makes games less predictable, and fun. It is mainly smooth and easy, but there is still nice amount of depth. Also it is perhaps one of the easiest game to get grip of it.

I'll try to make some report too, damn, I need more time in common day! :)

The bases are just 2mm plasticard that were painted with Krylon gloss blue along with some hasty detail which included a few layers of PVA glue.

The game does not require basing the ships but I recommend it, especially for the smaller masted frigates.  I cut my bases to all the same widths for each class of ship but the lengths were different depending on the particular ship.

After our first game we also decided it would be beneficial to have identifying marks/numbers/names on the vessels and a hash mark on the base and turn/fire template for proper alignment.

Gret paintjobs on those ships. I like the Uncharted seas range of ships (especially the dwarfs) but I do think the elf and human ships look too similar for my taste.
