...does THIS guy not just take the mick a bit? Take a look at some of his previous sales of 'Chaos Warlord Titans' and such; is it just me (am i being unduly harsh?) or are all of his 'resin sculpts' just plain old bad?
I really think it's a rip off and that he's getting money off of poor saps who should know better!

He clearly states in the auctions that they are sculpted by him so I don't know what the problem would be

People really seem to like his custom Dreadnaughts and such, so I don't see a problem... he's clearly saying their his own creations... even if they do seem to include some GW bits at times.

Sorry, but it is just you MoK. He clearly says what they are and his opening bid is just 1 pound. So I think there is nothing wrong with these auctions. If he were here in the US I might go for one of those Bugs myself.

But of course that is just my opinion.  :;):

Oh, I dislike the style of most of his stuff as well... *laugh*  But he's not trying to pass it off as actual GW stuff, so, that's okay.

ah, but you see that's where i disagree with you! Some of the putty work on the dreadnoughts is quite good (better than i'd manage) but otherwise it's blatantly recycled parts covered in hot glue gun gunk!
:oo:

Yeah, that's the "style" I don't like...

...does THIS guy not just take the mick a bit?

I'm always interested in learning the American equivalent of English phrases, so can I ask what this means?

It's usually used to mean teasing someone, sometimes with an implication that it's irritating and/or that they deserve it in some way.  A US version for "took the mick out of him" might be "got his goat" or "gave him down the road."

I think in this case it's flipped so that by saying the guy takes the mick, it's the guy that's being annoying or irritating.

Take the Mick: Take the piss

Erm, further translation: A person who may in fact be making a fool of you or others knowing full well that is what they are doing. Not some urine stealing fellow...

Oh, that's good.  He asks for an American equivalent and you give him another British idiom.

Example of taking the mick out of someone.

Luckily I've encountered "taking the piss" enough to know that it doesn't mean the same over there as it does over here!
