Currently working up may last three torpedo dauntless light cruisers. I'll be down to two 5 models left in my IN fleet after that.

A company of Otterman's Bison tanks has rolled of the assembly line, and has jumped to the front of my painting queue.

Today i've begun this chimera:

For now, just base color and the first paint chip. All the weathering will come.

Hi CL

Cool Battlemechs. I especially liked the Wolverine and Commando. 3 Jenners could be nasty- speed in and unload Medium Lasers at point blank range....

:D

Cheers

James

With a quote like that I hope a group fleet picture will shortly be forthcoming!!

I need some encouragement to finish off my own IN fleet.

Cheers

James

Torpedo armed Dauntlesses - still my all-time favourite BFG ship. A torp Dauntless and 3 Cobras once killed the Planet Killer in a game I'll never forget... and will probably be boring my grandkids with in years to come!

As for What I'm Working On: I'm sculpting dinosaurs! I've just done a 1/72 Velociraptor for someone. It's come out at roughly the size of a SM Rhino. I can't help thinking when the metal casts are done, I might just add some armour and a little space elf to the back...

Regards,
Reaver

I'll post a group pic after I finish up the vengeance that's sitting on the shelf. Eventually I'll buy the last 4 lance dauntless, but not now. I did get them all finished up last night and sealed today, but I'm trying to quickly finish painting up my last 40k missile trooper so I can move on to a few more epic things.

I applied artist's gel and sand to 39 stands of Space Marines.  Will be priming after dinner.

I am trying my hand at doing some simple conversions to a few AT-43 figures.

Here is a head swap I am doing. I used a head from a Clicky Game Figure. Next I am going to touch up the paint on her face/hair/ etc and then see how she looks.

Heavy Lance: Rifleman; Thunderbolt; 2x Catapults.

Might have to try another pic later with better lighting.  Gloss varnish doesn't help.

Here's the test stand for my marines.  The colors aren't 100% correct because I didn't want to set up my light tent for one stand of 6mm infantry but they're close enough.  The highlights on the helmet aren't quite so strongly yellow.

I was going to use RPP Stained Olive for the shadows, but it ended up being lighter than the Field Gray and gave them too much of a "Nurgle-y" appearance.  So they got a black wash.  These are to be from 2nd Company, but instead of straight gold on the shoulder pads I went with a subdued Desert Tan as I thought the gold would be to jarring visually against the drab greens, than and it was the same color used to highlight the sand so it ties the minis to the base.  Turns out it's a good color for highlighting the green too. :)  Weapons are black though I painted the magazine on the missile launcher a MSP Shadowed Steel (similar to Boltgun Metal but a little more blue/purple tint to it I think, need to ask Reaper's painter about that) to give them a little "bling" without going over board like my 28mm Marines (see the Photobucket gallery).

What d'yall think?

I am currently working on a Customized Brentonian based armylist for WHFB to create a princesses and knights army for my daughter.

Basically it is lead by a Princess and her retinue of Sorceress's who summon down Angels and Dragons in times of need to back up her loyal knights to fight of the "Bad Guys" (namely my Skaven army).

I painted one of the Pegasus riders.  My daughter doesn't think I painted it very pretty or very handsome and said she didn't want him on her team :(.

Kids will definitely tell you like it is.  No polite lies when you have put effort into something they don't like.  She eventually reasoned that he could be on her team if he was one of the cherubs Dads and looked after it.

The next thing on the paint table will either be the princess or the angels and Cherubs.

We decided the angels would ride around on clouds, they are going to be magically summoned by the sorceresses in times of trouble and have various abilities.  My theory was going to be that the most powerful sorceress could summon the coolest angel however in child logic the most powerful sorceress should summon down the little Cherubs so she can look after them and make sure they are ok.

Here are the clouds (strengthened with PVA/Water mix soaked into the cotten wool and let to set).
