I think they are rather good rules, as it stops GW and the =][= hunting you down and beating you up for doing something against their IP.

What are the legal ramifications of fans getting together and sculpting models that wont be released for a long time and distributing them on the internet? |
You can do it if your model doesn't resemble theirs more than 80%. Don't use their copyrighted background. You can mention that your sculpt could be used as a proxy as long as you mention their copyright.
Of course, corporate law and international law have practical realities, which means that GW outguns you financially and can hurt you if they want to do so.
What about charging for them? |
Meng's right. Keep it grass-roots for guys like us and your other friends.
Or simply charging for shipping and the cost of supplies?
Most of us would do that if we liked the model.
