My top three, all hellenistic but all for me big "what ifs" of the time.

1. Megalopolis, 331BC.
2. Sellasia, 222BC.
3. Ipsus, 301BC ("I love the smell of elephant poo in the morning").

If I can just change the direction and tempo of my own topic (see it's not just your threads I do this to) I would like to include Fictional Film battles too. Mine would be... (Probably because I have just finished watching it)

The Ride of the Rohirrim against the Orks on the fields of Pelennor. Ridding like the wind and twating Orks over the head, who could ask more!

... The Last Starfighter... With me in the StarFighter!  :D

Helm's Deep would be really cool to see, as well. Or the Battle of Five Armies, especially to see all those Dwarfs in battle.  8v)

The battle for Moria where the Dwarfs finally kicked the Orks out.  :)

Wow, that's a cheesy '80's (?) film if ever there was one...
If we're including cheesy films then I'm going for my current favourite 'Battle Beyond the Stars!' Now that Valkyre Warrior woman had the kind of outfit to make any insane Space Tyrant crash his Mega-Battleship into the nearest planet!

Sorry Charad I've already read them. Yes another fine example of a small superior force holding out against a massive but less well trained/prepared/commanded army.
I like underdogs who give large oppressive invading enemies bloody noses. Even if the conclusion is inevitable.

In fact on my Talonsoft Battleground PC game Eastern Front I have played many of the historic battles of that Winter War against the Russ. It's only a game but gives some very true historical background and insight. No I'm not on commission, it's no longer available I think?..

Ah yes, shooting posh folk off their horses at a distance and giving them a good drubbing when they managed to pick themselves up. excellent!   :))

I would have to counter your fine Agincourt and raise you The Battle of Loudoun Hill (one of my favourites and very close to where I live). The Scots lead by Robert the Bruce against the English Knights of Edward I.
