Well, looking at this picture, it seems that the Raiders are probably around 25mm long and the Vipers are just slightly shorter.  That's if the the playing card in the picture is a standard poker size, which Wikipedia is telling me is around 56mm wide.

I can echo Otterman's reoomendation of Ravenstar's BSG models. I have bought several inspired by both original and re-imagined series.
