My Ork fleet is still MIB but I got a wild hair and decided to start work on the Hulk.  I started to work cutting away with my foam cutter and some blue insulation board.  But here is my question; what is your idea of a good size for a hulk?  I'm thinking I may cut down the size some...

Dont worry bout that! Mine certainly over conpensating for something :sus:

More importantly... it shows you dont have to follow the old design of a random jumble of wreakz fused together in an asteroid. You can have the asteroid purposly built into a ship.

Exactly along what I was planning!

I got some more work done on the Hulk tonight.  The hull is finished be cut and I stuck a mass of bitz on it.  It is bigger than what I previously stated too: the main body is a bit over 11", with some attachments it is over 12".  I also glued the base (CDROM and 1.5" plastic plumbing pipe) to the hulk.

Next I will add some texture to it and then shoot it with some primer.  Might have a sneak peak up in the "what are you working on" thread this weekend.

Hmmm... Id have to say even I would concider that a bit oversized.
My Hulk is 7" long... and its pretty massive even by Hulk standards but the extra bulk is mostly made up in hight, not width or length.
A 12" long Hulk is ruffly twice the size of an average one.

I too based mine on a CD. I used that to determin the size of the Hulk.
Having your Hulk on a base which size relates to the size of the Hulk itself helps alot game wize.
A 12" long Hulk on a base thats overall area is only about a quarter of that of the Hulk does become a problem as then you have to measure from the Hulk and not the base to avoid being labeled a cheezemonger :;):

This overhead view of my hulk shows how big it is in relation to the base. Ive had to draw it in as the prospective of the shot gives a false impression of the base size.
