Looks like the chaos and IN battleships stayed the same prices, the vengeance and dauntless went up $5 as did all the SM escort blisters, repulsive went up $2 as did the ADmech cruisers. the rest of the in escort blisters and the marine strike cruiser went up 3 bucks.

The AdMech cruisers (light and normal) have been 12 pounds from their moment of release.

As far as I know all Battleships went from 18 to 20 pounds.
Strike Cruisers got upped from 7 to 8 (Forgeworld alternative = 6) pound.

hmm... the US store has always had the IN BB at 35 USD and the admech cruisers at 20USD; the cruisers just went up to 22USD.

Good thing I bought an IG army last week.  The IG Russ company has gone from $40US to $45US.  Freaking 12.5% price increase.  Ouch.

£20 for 4 land raiders! Jesus, glad I've got my armies.

They have been at that price and slightly higher in Canada for years.

You know, I realise that lead was phased out because of health codes, but I wonder if there could be something done to mitigate tin prices by resuming lead use.  For instance, if a new lead mini was automatically sealed at the factory to avoid lead exposure, that might satisfy health codes and bring the prices of minis down.  I'm not even sure what the comparative price of pewter is, so maybe this is all moot.  And is there anything else that could be used economically?  Zinc?  Unobtanium?

Well, the true killer here is the price of tin.  It's gone up more than 5x in the last 5 years.

Oh, and your 12.5% price increase?  How about a 25% or higher price increase like what parts of the Privateer Press line just had to do.  $20 blisters up to $25, $35 blister up to $45.

Since petroleum costs are finally coming down, we shouldn't see a FW price increase (although we probably will see huge delays in deliver due to increased demand).

I love the look on a 40k player's face when I tell him to buy FW Epic because it's cheaper!

Is Privateer the Warmachine stuff?  I wonder if that new giant monster game is plastic or metal, because that looks like it could be cool.

Monster Apocalypse is plastic.  Prepainted, collectible plastic.

I went and took a  look at the prices of different stuff again.  In some areas GW UK has gotten more expensive than in Canada but in most cases it's more expensive still in Canada.

I thought the plastic gaurd infantry were a good deal-- until I priced it out per stand and compared it to other metal manufacturers.  DRM's metal is the same price as GW's plastics here in Canada.

As an aside, there is no need to contemplate the reasoning behind the price increase.

So the Landing craft is so heavy in metal its £35? Which metal do they use for it? Titanium? Also all the paper products have massively increased in cost as well.

GW put up the price of every metal item across all their ranges this week, not just SG.

Five 'Blood Knights' (Vampires riding horses) are now £50... next to that, 4 Land Raiders for £20 seems positively cheap.

Thats just silly prices E&C. A boxed game - descent - has 4kg of stuff including 80 models and costs $80. Hell assault on black reach costs £40! They honestly expect people to pay that or do they want to scrap metal and go all plastic?

The latter ; The ammount of plastic (For the core games) that is one the horizon is really quite a huge ammount.

As for price raise due to metal cost, that's just silly.

Raw materials cost is up 400% in the last two years; Pretty much every other miniatures company has raised their prices on their metals in the last six months, GW is actually behind the curve on this one.

I would like to see a breakdown on production costs from start to finish.

Just ask people who worked at GW for how much money they could take x ammount of kilograms in metal. You'll be disheartened.

The by-weight discount at GW was cancelled something like two years ago.
