One of the considerations for my next project, or next one-third of a project considering that I multitask, is the Krieg Centaur.
Why? It's a cheap kit to buy. The small size will make for a cheap investment cast, mold, and resin usage. People, especially people named Legion 4, like it. Krieg are always popular.
And now, for the problems.
It's small, which means it won't have lots of neat detail to paint. That may be a benefit, considering how many of these things will be needed for a right and proper Krieg force.
It has those annoying cross-beams on the top. That means they will have to be ignored, or done as an extra piece. That extra piece will be mighty hard since it's so small.
They tend to have heavy stubbers, which are itty bitty at 6mm scale. That means they will either be left off, or grossly exaggerated.
The dozer blade on the front will have to be smushed into the chassis, or made into a separate part.
The grenadier variant has to be addressed.
So, I see a few ways of doing this.
A) 1) The Centaur is a single piece model, open top, no roll bar, no stubber, dozer blade smushed into chassis. 2) The Grenadier flavor is a single piece model, half closed top, possible pintle stubber, wire cutter blade smushed into chassis.
This plan can be done with 2 parts. It can be done faster than part B).
B) 1) Both variants have a common chassis, open top, no roll bar, no stubber, no front thingy. There are mounting holes or slot for front thingy. 2) The Grenadier flavor has an inset that half-closes the top, with possible pintle stubber. 3) There will be a dozer blade and a wire cutter blade piece available for the front mounting hole/slot.
This plan can be done with 4 parts. It makes my model nipples perky, but it seems a little insane, and insane plans tend to not be done. It does offer the most fleixbility... for a tiny support vehicle! The thought of casting this plan in resin troubles me.
