Hello folks,

Driven by the inspiring work all around me I have decided to make an Alter of Slaanesh that I have always wanted to do but never dared until now.

I have some bits and pieces put aside or on order and some very rough ideas but has anyone already made one of these before?

I know I need to make it Superheavy Class so that gives me some scope but what should the base be. I don't want to use a SHT. Some Slaanesh Steed or horse drawn device may look good. Would Warmaster sizes work?

I also have what I hope to be the parts needed for a Deathwheel so will try to do both about the same time.

link ain't working for me.

At this scale (giant horse in 6mm = 10mm, 15mm?) you might be able to find a toy horse.
(Cowboys and Indians spring to mind as much as play-farm)

And what better way to show dedication to slaanesh then by corrupting a child's toy?

Hey warhead; I've seen people use the Warmaster Empire War Altar to make a L&tD Chaos Altar, by adding bits from the 40k Chaos Vehicle Accessory sprue.

I went down a different route with mine, I based it on old plastic Land Raiders and Rhinos - plus bits from the trust ol' 40k Chaos Vehicle Accessory Sprue (an essential for every Epic Chaos collector!):

Firestorm, that Alter is immense! I already have most of the parts on there too. Great looking model.

I was thinking of the 10mm Empire War Alter for Warmaster (sorry link doesn't work for you madd0ct0r) Airfix horses is a possibility. I would want to make the horses more like Nightmares though.

And now I can't decide between Firestorms Tech Alter Tank or the Low Tech pulled by horses pie in the sky concept.

I think I'll try Firestorms and see if I can put some Slaanesh Steeds in front or something... hmmmm... I might even get some Warmaster Daemonettes and try sticking them on in an attempt to have them... cavorting? or something.

And what better way to show dedication to slaanesh then by corrupting a child's toy?

I have only blue tacked this together as a concept to see how the bits fit and how much I need to do. What do you think?

I like  great range of bits in there and giving it 'legs' really makes it stand out.

Can you modify chaos the storm bolter somehow though? as it still looks quite storm-bolterish in its current form.

Yeah I hope to somehow turn the face/icon on the bolters the right way up and cut all the 'it's 'o' so obviously a bolter' parts off like the bullets and such. If I can I may put some spikes and things on too and lastly a line of My Little Ponies of Slaanesh at the front.

Reaper makes a set of spiked weapons that have lots of neat pewter chains.

Audrey (Wraeththu) built a slaanesh altar using the Warmaster Empire altar with Slaaneshi bits (Dark Elf Man-o-War bits, iirc) drawn by the old slaanesh fiend models.  Using the easily-obtained slaanesh beastrider models would work just as well.
