hi, after a long time away from the hobby due to real life getting in the way... i have finally gotten into a new gameing group and starting to play epic again.

now 3 of the lads i game with want to start epic so we havs started 1000pts a side mini-geddon games (no flyers/ships, 500pts formation cap and two objectives placed each)

from two games using :
2 x demi century
1 x Ordinatus (2 x vulkan mega bolter)
1 x sentenel cohort

against a marine force (using the list from the rulebook)
3 x devastator formation
1 x bike squadron with chaplain

Sadly loseing both games   one to a 50vps difference the other in the 4th turn. i raise the following question:

what version of the sentenl is being used for the AMTL and Skitari?

at speed 10cm the ordinatus seems to behave raver poorly being outpaced by infantry, what are others thoughts on the weapon latform paticularly in such small games if anyone else has tried?

The ordinatus is really a form of artillery, and in such a small game it will be difficult to protect.

the fact that Ordinati are being used as WE arty does explain alot, i was using it as close support for my Demi centuies. has this become tha standard use for ordinati?
