Sgt I tried 1/300 aircrfat.  They were too small.  Lets just say that the epics minis are a scale all to them selves.  

If you can find them in 1/200 you might be in line with the FW aircraft.

1:144 is a airplane scale, perhaps that'll fit?

Yep, Epic is a set of "scales" unto itself ... GHQ's men & machines are too small ... Or there would be some of that floating around in some Epic Armies. (Save for like the German Maus and E100, which would be alright for Epic ...   )
