Have I missed something here?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warhamm....4.l1318

Is £82 not a bit steep for 33 stands of Eldar and a handful of bikes and stuff?

I swear some people treat it like ebay auctions are a competition that you have to win.

Winning an auction is not winning at all when you can just buy it new heaps cheaper.

I often wonder though with dumb bids if people actually end up paying in the end when they realise they can buy twice as much straight from GW for the same amount.

I find that ebay can be a wee bit expensive from time to time depending on the item, but sometimes it's good for getting what you need like Knight titans, old beetle-back warlords, plastic land raider, old style SM dreads, etc. Sometimes though it can be a pretty big money sink as you get people who just keep bidding up and up and up. Thats why I tend to try to bit right at the end of the auction to limit the one oneupmanship somewhat.

I've developed a theory after I sold 2 unopened 40k chaos bikes for £24 when you can buy them for £6 each (at the time anyway).

It's called ebay fever:
Sufferer becomes confused and loses all sense of money, reason or judgement.
Usually manifests in the 30min - 1 hour prior to an auction ending.
Sufferer is compelled to WAAAC (Win Auction At ALL Costs). Bouts of ebay fever will fade and can be remedied by the sufferer's significant other shouting 'You spent HOW MUCH on tiny fighting men??'.

This is of course, just 1 man's opinion.
