OK, time to swallow some pride here and ask a question to the collection wisdom:
You may have seen in my blog thread (
http://www.tacticalwargames.net/forums/ ... =1155;r=1;) that my 8 yr old son is developing some tactical skills, which of course I wish to develop in order to properly train my own opponent. Indeed it is nice to have someone at home wanting to play a game every night!
Now the next obvious step from Spoace Hulk is 40k and with the new rules released and the starter set coming out, this would seem a natural way forward. I have heard that the new 5th Ed rules are more tactical in nature too which sounds good. While he isnt at a level to understand the full system yet, it gives good scope for greater expansion later. Of course I alreday have a bunch of background material too Downpoints are the cost of armies and the risk of him turing inot a GW fanboy! Plus the painting aspects which he int up to (yet)
AT-43 also offers an alternatoive, and the pre-painted minis are also a bonus. However, its not as widespread and I'm not too sure about the system.
Is anyone out there able to provide soem comparisons between the two systems? Or perhaps provide another alternative? Thanks guys!
