Honda, I agree with everything you said there...
Especially on Auxiliaries, I've never fought Kroot in 40k that were in a Tau Army, I think if you want to use them then it should be in a different List that encourages the use of Auxiliaries, Kroot, Vespid, Human, Polar Bears (Nicassar), and Tau infantry.
I know that they skim on an anti-grav cushion, but do they have the tech to make the cushion big enough to make a big pop up on?
I'm not sure but in the Dawn of War games Tau can't perform the jump maneuvers that other skimmers can.

Actually Hena, dropping the auxilia would make more sense if they need "upgunning". Also, just because they get used "a lot" where you are, doesn't mean they should be part of the list as experimental lists mean that things can be dropped. From what I 'm told GW have dropped the auxilia from their Tau Empire 40K list/fluff?? In the need for apparent change perhaps the auxilia should be dropped.

Human Aux are available in 40k games by using the unit entry in the Taros Campaign.

I've used Kroot often in my Epic games.
They make a very useful shield wall (deployed on garrison, across the middle of the board, in terrain) to slow down early Warhound charges etc. and the infiltrate ability is useful aswell in that position.
