I was just browsing the FW website and the manta discription says that it is a new model replacing the old one.

Does anyone have any idea what the differences are?

EDIT:  I have also just noticed that they are also £35.00, weren't they originally fifty?

Been £35 for ages. Note I still reckon they should be abilitied and costed at Reaver not Warlord level.

Wow! I am sure that the one I got was £45. I am due a bonus from work next month and I was going to pick up a second one. At this price, I may get another two, and then I will be able to compare them.

Be honest you want them to fly around fighting each other while you make noises :)

Just called FW - hi, FW, if you read this! The new Epic Manta (I refuse to refer to it as an AI Manta!  :;): ) is ten pounds cheaper, at thirty five pounds. This new version is sealed and does not have the option for opening the cargo bay. This gets rid of the extra mechanism and strengthens the rear of the aircraft, also reducing the cost. Great news! (I was worried it would be smaller!)

Thanks for the intel CS.

Tau now have a cheap (pounds) titan.

Shame about the lose of the lowered payload bay, for dioramas.

I assume that the model is otherwise identical to the original version in size and detail.

I would actually prefer not to have it.  Its just an extra bit of a pain in the arse for assembly.  I'll probably go back and glue mine shut when I get back into my tau.

Strange, isnt it? I have an original version, currently unassembled. I was simply going to avoid theh problems and glue the bargo bay closed - even before the new version was here. But, now I know that new Mantas have to have the cargo bay closed, I may actually glue mine open and have some Crisis suits leaping out of the back!
