Just wondering if there are any avid 40K collectors out there who can tell me what the market value is for the Warhammer 40,000 Compendium?

This is the softcover originally published back in the late '80s (I think) that first introduced Terminators and Harlequins.

It contains some really great artwork and articles, as well as some of the first ever army lists (eg for Space Marines, Squats and Harlequins).

Collectors and 40K fans would dig it...I'm just not sure how much they'd be willing to part with for it. Can anyone tell me?

Not much, you can still order them new off the presses.  That is how I ordered mine.

Hmm, just checked was no longer available.  I ordered my red and yellow books some years ago they were printed fresh (at least claimed to be) and brand new.  But I did just find some compendiums used for $40, guess it depends on the quality really.

Both of those books have been out of print for over a decade so I can't imagine where you got new prints from.
