Yup, I knew it was AT's 20th anniversary this year. A friend gave me AT for my birthday in '88. It's hard to believe I've been playing Epic for twenty years.

I didn't think it hit the shops until early '89? The WD launch issue was 108 - December '88, and it was scheduled for a 'winter' release.
I certainly don't remember getting it for Christmas...

Blast from the past!  I remember getting that WD and the subsequent discussions that went on when I took it to school about whether or not it was at 40k scale.  Obviously it was very quickly decided that it wasn't but, for me at least, it made 40k seem limited.
