Altie Rock, fairly heavy. Reminds me in spots of Faith No More and in spots of Rage Against the Machine. If you're familiar with Squirrel Nut Zippers, they have a couple songs that sound like altie-rock versions of SNZ, which sounds completely bizarre but works.
I went to college with the drummer. He married a woman from down under and now he lives in Melbourne.
I wouldn't normally post something like this, even for a friend, but these guys are good if you're into that genre. If I had heard them on the radio, I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Or, as one of our mutual friends said, "If you'd told me this was your new favorite band instead of your band, I'd have had no trouble believing it."
For those around Melbourne, they've been gigging at Espy Front bar in St. Kilda and they have a 3-song demo and 6-song ep available. If you're going to see them let me know.
