They can be used as proxies for all sorts of things. My favourites to date is as obliterators.

i want to see knights and robots in the list. in what list can i field my robots?

The Skitarii list has the Praetorians unit, I think robots would be suitable for the roll.

The "forge knight" is a compromise. If Paladins were included in the list, it would make no sense that the other types weren't included too. By creating a generic knight, made on a forgeworld rather than a knightworld, it allows people with knight models to use them, while allowing a way to not include all the knights in the list.

If you want to play a knight heavy list then use the knight world list.

The title of the upgrade section "Battle Titans and Ordinatae Upgrades" needs to be updated as currently:

a) Warhounds cannot take any upgrades (should at least have the option of a Vet Princeps)

b) There are no Ordinatae in the list! (which is a shame)

Cheers, I'll chalk that down for 3.12.

'Praetorian Combat Servitors' is basically the new name for Robots.

The question gets asked but it doesn't seem to get answered.

Are the Paladins that you are intending to be used as proxies really that much more accessibly than Knight Errants?

If you want to play a knight heavy list then use the knight world list.

That wasn't the issue

You're missing the point ; Not just the Paladins are intended as proxies for the 'Forge Knight', but *any* knight can be used as a proxy for the Forge Knight.

This allows people who have (For example) three Paladins and three Knight Wardens to field a formation of six Forge Knights.

It is the most newbie-friendly way to include Knights in the AMTL army list... if you have a larger collection of Knights then you can use the Knightworld army list instead.

I always hate it when people answer a question that way

So its for newbies who have three of each different knight but would then want to field them as generic units?

That doesn't really make a lot of sense.

It's not just or newbies.

It's for people who want to have some knight presense in their list, but don't have enough of each to make a whole formation, as E&C said, or for people who choose to convert knights from something else. It's also so as not to confuse newbies by having lots of units for which there are no models that can be bought.

It's also what the community voted for.

If you disagree that's your perogative, but a majority of people wanted it this way.

Well, you are missing the point of why the Forge Knight exists, no?

So its for newbies

Yes.

(And also grognards) who have three of each different knight

Yes.

I fail in all this to see what your own opinion actually is ; Do you want more knight types in the list, or are you just confused by why we have chosen to have the generic 'Forge Knight' as our Knight?

i think there could be two diffrent types of knights in this list, on close ranged one and one shootier. that way one could split onse knights up into theese two groups and none would look awkward. still simple but with variety.

has anyone painted up any cool looking knight that might inspire my painting nerve? ill have to search the threads..

There was a vote ; We will only be having one Knight type in the AMTL army list.
