It may be a country-specific serving issue.

I was thinking the same thing. The three of us are Yanks.

Note I said "Yanks", not "Yankees". I'm definitely a Yankee. Mosc might be, depending on your definition of "Yankee". Lord I, you would not be a Yankee since you're from South of the Mason Dixon line.

Never understood the distinction. Nevertheless, as an Englishman, I don't know that I'd fall into either category... (I believe that "Limey" is the correct term?)

Sorry, I thought you were American. Yank is generally a slang term used by non-Americans to refer to us. Once you get within the US, the definition of Yankee changes depending on where you are.

And yes, our slang for Englishman is Limey.

And to answer E&C more properly, those having problems with the SG site live in the US.

As far as I'm aware, all of the people in England who tried to order the sprue on the day it went cheap didn't get them, despite clicking 'buy' on the website, the contract doesn't become real in English law until the moment GW agrees to it... which they did not. :)

I think it would be tied to your computer's IP address. I know certain services for licensed films and music can only be accessed by nort americal internet users. However it is possible to cheat the site by using a program that makes the server think you got an american IP address.

After reading the for and against arguements, I find myself greatly heartened by GW's recent announcement.

While I have had Epic miniatures since 2nd Ed was released, I never once got to have a game until I recently decided to get into Epic: Armageddon.

From my n00b perspective, then, it strikes me that increased official support for Epic can only be a good thing.

There are many 40K players like myself who would no doubt look into and even try Epic...if they knew it existed. At my local club, for example, very few of the players (even some who have been playing 40K for many years) knew anything about Epic. They had perhaps heard of it, but never seen it. These are people who buy from the GW website all the time, so my hope now is that the E:A rulebook and miniatures will be prominently displayed on that GW site and online store.

The best indication of this is the "new packs" that have been promised. This presumeably means new Epic miniatures packs (re-packaged, perhaps?) going on sale. It is even possible at this point that this could mean entirely new miniatures.

Making new Epic packs available for sale indicates a level of investment in Epic that GW has not shown for some time, as the cost of producing something like (even repackaged) miniatures for sale is not small.

Feel free to shout me down if you think my logic is flawed or if I have missed something. I can see from a lot of the comments in this thread that some people feel they have been betrayed previously and fear to hope now (I am a Firefly fan, so I know what that is all about); however, in this case, I think GW's news should be seen in a very positive light.

I guess we will find out in time, but I am definitely counting myself in the Optimist camp. ?:)

Well, the fact that CS and Tac Cmd was mentioned is a good thing. As far as the 400lbs Silverback in the corner (ie. G/W's lack of EPIC support) ...  I'm working on models made by guys here (you know who you are! :) ), that G/W didn't make in Epic scale.  I just sent  a check to another Tac Cmd denizen for an Epic rules supplement (again, you know who you are ! :D ).   So once again ... who needs G/W ? :D  And I'm much more "sold" on DRM SoW then E:A.  So again regardless ... we'll keep Epic and a very large share of 6mm Sci-fi alive and well here.  Long after Hasbro(or a company from Taiwan) buys out G/W ... IMO ... :;):
