i like the idea of caseless ammo, because why would you want one if you didn't have to!!!!!!!!

are you going to give the barrel rifling?

Entire epic warlord, plus weapons, is currently in production alongside the 40K one.

and yes, the barrel will be rifled.

These are some quick mock-ups from rhino to play with the shapes, I'll do one with more hi-tech stuff tonight.

I was actually thinking on the ammo storage sections (so no help for a cook off in the barrel, but that would look good as well!).

Jonluke, as you are making anewer version of said weapon I think that maybe it needs a little more flare than the original one. I am thinkin it looks a litle bland and that maybe you might want to add a muzzle break or even extend your barrel length and incorporate a fume extractor. Or even a combination of the two. If you need ideas on muzzle breaks or fume extractors, have a look at Janes and look at the varous armoured vehicles there. Fume extractors are common on large calibre high velocity guns, ie tank guns. Where as muzzle breaks are more common on smaller calibre, and artillery guns.

I just think it needs a little more to define it as a new weapon and not a copy of the old plastic one. Well my musing for this morning, its all looking very cool so far.

Cheers
Aaron

Well, The rhino file is the beginning point for the gun. I'll be working more into, I'll do some more designs and add more flare for you. Originally I drew that short version, which I liked but E&C didn't. I'll add more bits but wanted to keep the bulky powerful feel of the old gun.

Mate it looks good, I was just adding my thoughts, maybe E&C and I are thinking alike. I am sure you will turn out a fantastic Titan and weapons. I am looking forward to it and to what your Epic scale version looks like. I also may have a couple of challenges for you if you are interested, gap filling in an army list so to speak.

Cheers
Aaron

Your thoughts are helpful, keep em coming.
I'd be happy to "gap fill" but give us a chance to finish these bits first.
Any comments on what the other weapons should be? Quake cannon on one arm, Support Missile on one shoulder.
What should fill the other two slots.
E&C and I liked the idea of a close combat weapon, as they havn't been redesigned or even considered in years. Though there's always the standard Volcano Cannon option as well.
Anyway, tell me what you'd like to see.

Ok, well I will keep it coming then. I think that a beam based weapon should be the last weapon. I agree that a CC arm mount is definately the right idea. Giving it a beam/plasma weapon would make it a well rounded Titan. and I will send you a PM reference gap filling in the near future.

Cheers
Aaron

Twin Quake? :) Plasma offers LED opportunities (hell this thing should twinkle). Gatling blaster if you like barrels.

Plasma seems the most popular, and CC is cool.
Just 'cause they've already got them, the Reaver and Warhounds weapons are not gonna appear on this model, I'm gonna make new weapons.

I have to say my titans are usually shooty configs as well, but CC weapons are undoubtedly cool.

This is I believe my final design for the head. Though E&C suggests moving the pipes to the bottom centre rather than emulating the reaver.
