I agree, a little less cartoons and more like the Sci-fi version of the Uruk-hai with crudely made vehicles and equipment ...

Looking at the Genestealer mini again, and I like it less. The feet look like they are ripped right out of Jurrasic Park, and the Claws are more like an extra set of hands with huge nails, except that they are way too big.

I'm coming from the standpoint that they are "alien bugs", so they can be a little over-the-top. And bottom line is that G/W took the Genestealers concept from the movie "Alien(s)", but that really does not bother me. They're all cool for Alien Bugs !

Hi!
I find the old genestealer model perfectly fine and find the newer ones, somewhat disproportionate.
I would have prefered they make more poses instead of a "new" model.

I agree with you Primarch- new poses would be fine.. the old Genestealer model does not look "dated" at all imo- it is still pretty cool even if it is getting on for 14 years old!
As for Ork Clans, I also agree with the 'silly names' -the cartoonishness of the Orks in 2nd Ed 40k was dreadful.. the newer style is better, though I still dislike bits of it, and the new models are just far, far superior.. thank god for Brian Nelson!! lol...

Me too...but dont have a copy now that I have got around to collecting some ork figures for EA.
Is there a handy on-line Reference with the fluff and colours anyone knows about?

Off the top of my head...
Goffs - Very aggressive (even for Orks) and big in close combat. Lots of Skarboys and Nobz. - Black and white check with some red bits.
Deathskulls - Big scavengers and lootas. Impressive number of big weapons and looted vehicles cobbled together from anything they could get their hands on - Lucky colour blue everywhere.
Snakebites - Very traditional Orks. Lots of boarboys and squiggoths. 2nd only to the Goffs in H-t-H. Shun technology in general, except souped up Cyboars! - Drab browns and dirty yellows.
Evil Sunz - Adrenaline junkies and closest of the Clans to the Kult of Speed. Lots of Mechs and vehicles everywhere. - Red wunz go fasta (lots of red)!
Blood Axes - Very militaristic and structured. For Orks, they've got good discipline. Have been known to fight with humans on occassions, especially mercenaries.Still not to be trusted! Like to use tactics and brute force rather than just brute force. High number of bartered, borrowed and looted Imperial vehicles, Kommandos and Stormboyz. - Grey or camouflaged uniforms. Often ape Imperial Guard uniforms they've seen.
Bad Moons - Richest of the Clans as their teef grow fasta. Lots of support weaponry, the best Ork kit money can buy, Weirdboyz and big guns. - Yellow, with a bit of black.
Each clan has got its own style of glyphs and iconography. Sperate tribes within each clan use variations on these, e.g the Bad Moons generally use a grinning black moon on a yellow background.

Yep, J/H, that's what my intell says, you got the Ork clans right. There is an old W/D that shows pics and text that pretty much says that ...
