FW really needs to invest in a 3d scanner and printer combo.

GW already have one.

I personally cannot imagine that scanning and printing off Epic scale versions of things like the Malcador or Macharius wouldn't pay for themselves in short order.

In comparison to the money they take from doing the same with 40k models, no, it wouldn't be worth it.

Hhmmm... does FW have access to it or is all their material done by hand still?

Considering the actually expense of sculpting it would only need to be done once and then just rescaled on the printer the fact they don't pretty much tells you how viable they consider Epic to be then.

The only thing it would cost them is the time and the small amount of whatever they use as an extrusion medium.

Yep.

At the current level of sales, the numbers obviously don't add up.

Kind of sad really... I would have expected that if they offered items that aren't in the current SG range they would have been a viable range.

Even the FW figs that are in the SG range are usually so much nicer... and in the case of the IG SHTs cheaper... than the SG ones.

I for one would be more than happy to buy a complete FW DKoK army if it were available in Epic scale.

Frankly save for the SHTs, most of both F/W's and G/W's MBTs, APCs, etc. are a bit small. They remind me of some of the 2 or 3 man AFVs of the early WWII battles. And the DKoK Siegfried must be a 1 man tankette !?!? ???  But generally speaking IMO, the G/W SHTs are about the right size for an MBT ...  But what do I know !?! ???  :;):

Do you think so? You know that a life-sized Predator would have a height of about 4,4m (with turret)according to an Index Astartes article in WD? :D

Well in RL an average MBT is about 2.7 to 3+m high ... So a G/W Predator would be pretty tall at 4.4m! ?But look at the models, the E:A SM vehicles come pretty close, but many of the rest would have to be crewed by Ratlings !

I have to admit that I am very tempted to buy one, I have done some additionalcontract work so I now have some "spare" cash.

however the only thng stopping me is that I don't know how to build a tail for it.

I have:
A mountian load of tenticle pink to paint it.
Access to a laser cutting thingy to make it a chain blade
Ideas to convert its' head into a giant speaker
A spare battle cannon to give it a groin cannon (like all Slaaneshi titans should have)

As soon as I can figure out how to build the thing a tail I will get one.

Uh....did anyone else happen to notice that there does not appear to be any crew access hatches shown on the model?

So...just how does the crew enter and exit?

They were part of the crew that built it - but were given the job of working on the inside wiring when the boss ordered the carapace to be fitted . . .

I've spotted at least two, possibly three hatches.
